Most misnamed songs of all time? You know what I mean,

songs where the chorus or break is instantly recognizable, and should have been the song title, but isn't. I'll give a couple, feel free to add on, this is a conversation starter.
"Pink Houses"-John Mellencamp: I personally think the title of this one should have been "Ain't That America".
https://youtu.be/qOfkpu6749w
"Big Yellow Taxi"-Joni Mitchell: This one should have been "They Paved Paradise" (and put up a parking lot.)

Baba O'Riley ?
DEFINITELY the most instantly recognizable lead in of all time. That, and Layla by Eric Clapton. And Back in Black by AC/DC.

Fleetwood Mac's Dreams

didn't really have as much to do with dreams as heartbreak. Should have called it Heartbreak or What You Had or What you Lost or Thunder Only Happens When It's Raining though that's a long title.
Speaking of misunderstanding, as a youngster I thought CCR was saying there's a bathroom on the right instead of a bad moon on the rise, Linda Ronstadt was saying Blew By You instead of Blue Bayou, and John Mellancamp was saying little titty at the beginning of Jack and Diane.

That song was perfectly named. Its about what you want, not what you have. Therefore, Dreams...

One more is Rod Stewart's "Young Turks". The chorus hook is "Young hearts be free tonight". The word Turks is never in the lyrics.
I always felt like Billy and Patti ended up as friends with Tommy and Gina.

in the conceptual art of the song. Juxtaposing is artistic device.
