Why would he hold out for the Alabama A&M job?

Oh you mean the Texas A&M job. That position will not open up for at least 4 years and Chad will have left CU by then.

Why do you think that?

Sumlin just signed a huge extension and is in the process of building a huge house. Plus he has the #2 recruiting class in the nation with the #1 QB locked up. Sumlin is at A&M for the long haul unless Jerry makes him an offer he can't refuse.

Has at least 3-4 years of good will built up. I think he should be on UF, GA TECH, and VA TECH's radar

Vandy was in a position to be unusually selective this year. Not many teams changed coaches this year...especially compared to last season. Very, VERY light year, in terms of head-coaching changes in college football.
Precisely because so many coaches got stays of execution this year, though, next year is going to be bloody. Just off the top of my head...GT, UF, Arkansas, Mississippi State, TCU, UVA, VT, UNC, NC State, Pitt, Syracuse, Nebraska, Michigan, heck, even UGA, all have coaches with varying degrees of flame under their seats...and that's before the NFL does its yearly raid of top-level college coaches.
Next offseason is going to be a mess.
Be a seller's market, next January. This year was exactly the opposite.

Morris is waiting for enough experience to take a HC job. He's not ready and yes, I'll keep saying that until he's ready. When he's ready I'll let everyone know. sml

Morris was not selected and look at sumlin's exp, night and day to Morris
Why would Louisville vandy etc got with more exp but fla and Texas a m go after him?
He is at Clemson until SMU, arky st or a MAC school opens up

Sumlin is the most overrated coach in the country

I could see that job being open after a 5-7 or 6-6 year next year.

Please explain
Jan 17, 2014, 5:55 PM
|
|
Sumlin:
O.C. at Oklahoma: Oklahoma averages 44 points a game.
H.C. at Houston: Final season Houston goes 12-1 averages well over 44 points a game
H.C. at A&M: A&M averages over 40 points a game and his Q.B. wins the Heisman.
So, other than the fact that he is a great recruiter, his teams put up crazy amounts of points, and he wins, you're right, he is over rated.

And if he could only play offense he would be awesome. They weren't exactly hot stuff this year with Manziel. They will get run over next year because Sumlin had made no effort, nor has he ever, to address his defensive deficiencies,
