Morning Drive notes - guy in BMW Z4 (?) convertible driving

with top down in 51 degree weather. Another car pulls out in front of the car ahead of me and drives 20 MPH in 35 zone and then refuses to turn on red at next light causing the guy in front of me to sit through a long light when he also wanted to turn right. Why do that ? If you are in such a hurry to pull in front of people, why go so slow and not turn when nothing is coming?

car slightly behind you and no one for 1/2 a mile. Why do they speed up, pass you and then get in your lane only to slow down and turn thus causing you to slam on breaks or turn immediately to your left to avoid them? Why don't they slow down, get behind you and then turn?

I get the guy with the top down, I am a motorcycle rider and rather enjoy riding in ‘cooler’ weather. I understand riding with the top down!
As for the other driver, imho, courtesy and consideration for others is a vanishing thing. I try very hard to give others the benefit of doubt, but it’s getting harder to do as I find I’m having to do it more often.

Do not forget the drivers who run red lights. This happens every day. For years I was not in agreement with cameras at red lights for traffic control but have change my mind.

I had a driver refusing to turn right in front of me yesterday. I am not shy about using the horn and raising my hands like WTH. She heard and saw, then turned. Luckily I had time to go too.

I get what you’re saying about turning right on red. A driver may turn right on red. The law doesn’t say that a driver has to. Believe me, I prefer to right turn/red any chance I get but I don’t push the driver ahead of me to do so.

There is a No Turn On Red sign in Columbia at an intersection i go through regularly. It amazes me how many people turn right on red at THAT one. Maybe we as a state need to put "No Turn on Red" signs at more intersections

No one knows how to drive anymore. People are so distracted looking at TikTok or Instagram on their stupid phones. They can’t do simple things like push the gas pedal when the stop light turns green.

I believe many people don't think their vehicle will operate unless they have their ### stuck on a cell. Nov 2010 my youngest daughter was hit by a female who ran a red light with a two year old in her car. Daughter's car was the third entering the intersection so the light hadn't just turned. No tread marks from the perps car. The first words she said were "can't find my phone". Several months ago a tow truck driver using a cell ran a light, killed a 3 year old, injured a 6 year old and caused the pregnant mom to go into labor. Hope he gets fried.
