Here's how I honestly feel about the SCU rivalry

I don't have an issue with the school. My mom went there, and my dad went and got his law degree there. It's a good fit for some people and not a good fit for others, just like every school. If you live in SC and want a law degree, you're gonna go to SCU, not Clemson. If you want to be an engineer, you'll go to Clemson and not SCU. That's why I find knocking the academics silly.
I honestly would have no issue pulling for their football team to do well, or for their baseball team to do well, or whatever, if it weren't for the fans. And it's not all the fans. But the times I've gone to games there, and from living in Columbia, I've grown a pretty big dislike for them. From one drunk guy trying to kill my father by attempting to pull him down some bleachers, to getting cussed at and called obscene things, they make things absolutely miserable.
I know some good SCU fans. But the number I know is small. The majority from what I've seen have been terrible. Rude, obnoxious, violent in some cases. I don't hate the school. I don't hate the programs. I hate their jack-arse fans who represent everything so poorly. They make me want to see SCU lose every single game in every single sport they ever play.
The last 3 years is the worst I've ever experienced. Hopefully the number of obnoxious fans start to dwindle after November.

This is the truest post that's ever been on this board. Both of my parents went to Carolina also, but I chose to go to Clemson. Therefore I don't really have any hard feelings toward the school either.
However, as you said, their fans are the absolute worst. Maybe it's because I am from Columbia and have to deal with them more than most people, but you can't convince me that they aren't the worst bunch of people on the planet. Absolutely no class at all.

When clemson had the upper hand, there seemed to be more clemson fans than Carolina fans on Carolina boards.

They have good ones. But the bad ones are BAD.

There's bad Clemson fans too. But I've seen less bad Clemson fans than Carolina fans.
Now, I have seen a few really annoying Clemson fans who like to act like coaches while I'm sitting next to them. But that's a whole other issue.

In the upstate most of my life, so I tend to agree with you but on the other end of the spectrum. Academics, you're exactly on point with your statement. If you want to be a law student, go to the university of sc. If you want engineering, go to CU. No need to tear down individuals for trying to better themselves.

The guy that pumps my gas is always friendly and asks me which type of gas I prefer. Yes, he is gracious enough to let me choose the gas type he will pump for me. How awful of me it would be to wish for such a friendly fellow's sports team to lose!

Nothing turns a mild-mannered "Clemson is better than USC" or vice versa argument into "F*** your school, your academics, your coach, your second cousin who went there, and everyone who lives in the city!" argument faster than some alcohol. My experiences with all fans, even in other sports and other leagues are some heated discussions at times but not too many personal attacks. It just takes one cheap shot to turn a fair fight into an all out brawl, giving that fan base a terrible name.

You don't have to go to USuc to go to law school

You can get a real degree from Clemson, and then go to law school at USuC or any of a number of other law schools.

Here is how I feel. Eff em all. I can't stand the school, the players, the fans, the sports teams, Spurrier and the dumazz chicken they have for a mascot. I agree though,it starts with the fans.

I'd actually prefer a more heated rivalry

More trash talk, more off color cheers, just pure hate of the school itself. Nothing dirty, nothing personal, nothing physical, nothing that would get someone arrested, but then again I realize that there are crazy people that actually will cross the line and take it too far and not realize that with the hate and the trash talk that it is still a game and afterwards we all go back to normal. So basically that will never happen again.

I agree with you, there are definitely some bad Carolina fans. But of course you'll notice bad things about your rival. I've been to a few games in Clemson, and all Clemson fans aren't as classy as you'd have them to be.

Just like I will from the bad Carolina fans.
Not all Clemson fans are saints. I've said that quite a few times. But I haven't seen Clemson fans out-bad Carolina fans. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened. But I haven't seen it, and I've been to quite a few Clemson games.

I don't understand why he would ask what type of gas you would need, because the piece of sh!t Mazda you most likely drive only accepts unleaded regular.
