If you were the FOX Director overseeing College Football

how would you send a message home that Fox is now taking over college football (from ESPN)?

Thinking about this...
-ESPN has long been the main factor in college football
-The rise of the SEC is 98% due to ESPN's marketing of the SEC (just like a small school like Notre Dame has such a huge following due to NBC)
-ESPN is a financial sucking chest wound for Disney
-Thanks to Fox (and NBC and CBS), the B1G has the biggest payouts per school out of all conferences

What would you do to signify a changing of the tide?

First two things I would do:
-Assist with snagging FSU, Clemson, UNC, and UVA into the B1G (and try again with ND)
-Hire a legit team for Big Noon Saturday. My primary target would be Kirk Herbstreit with Corso about to retire (esp since he's a tOSU guy). I'd also try to grab another big name like Peyton Manning (Southerner), Josh Pate, etc. to show that we're serious. Maybe grab a west coaster like Troy Aikman (UCLA), Reggie Bush (USC), Carson Palmer (USC), or Marcus Allen (USC). Another southern on the market would be David Pollack (UGA). Basically have a cast of insightful guys that demand attention without all the 'entertainment' and yelling (see Pat McAfee, Stephen A. Smith, etc.). Obviously you'd need a female, and I can't come up with anyone off the top of my head, as long as it isn't Heather Dinich.

Notre Dame is not a small school when it comes to football and that is the reason they are tied to NBC.
ESPN does not win games for SEC teams, players do.
I agree we would be better off in the BIG10.

Compare ND enrollment to:

-Clemson
-Ohio State
-Texas
-Alabama
-FSU
-LSU

I'll wait.

The rise of the SEC is it dominates college football championships by several different teams. They have done it on the field - period. ESPN or FOX doesn't play the game. The players do. The SEC is all about football and ESPN recognizes that. It not only wins championships almost all the time but leads in attendance as well even though the population of the country is up north. Like that former NFL player from the Longhorns stated that he wanted Texas in the SEC because it is the axis of college football.

Why? How did that start?

The first time I saw Pat McAfee on Gameday I hated it.
