Mike Tomlin to LSU/USC rumors.

When I first read this on an LSU message board I dismissed it as being as ridiculous as Saban or Swinney rumors.
I still don't think it is serious, but at least on "reputable?" source (MSN) is mentioning it.
Just posting it here FYI. I think there are two far more likely scenarios than him seriously considering leving the Steelers for the NCAA.
1. Just unfounded rumors by folks who have no idea. 2. Tomlin's agent is floating the rumors to give him leverage in negotiating a contract with the Steelers.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/mike-tomlin-to-usc-or-lsu/ar-AAPKUeK Mike Tomlin to USC? Or LSU? Former Bills GM & Steelers executive joined The Fan Morning Show and laid out the reasons why he thinks it would make sense for Mike Tomlin to leave the Steelers to become the head coach at USC or LSU

I don’t really understand why they would want him.

He didn’t play or coach at either of those schools. I don’t believe he has ever coached in college.

Not sure I've ever see him speak or coach on the sidelines during a game, but to be fair, he does a great job standing there mean mugging everyone in sight.

recruiting at the college level. Maybe he’s content in nfl, although Steelers team doesn’t look that great, lately.

Ruh Roh you referred to MSN as reputable on Tnet; you're gonna catch he'll for that.
JK, like the other poster said I'd be surprised if an NFL coach willingly left the league to coach in college. Recruiting has always been a bear, but it seems like these days it's becoming almost impossible to manage a college program.
I work with a guy who was an on field coach at an FCS school; he put in 100 hours a week in the off-season recruiting. He left to get an MBA cause he and his wife decided they wanted to start a family and he wanted to be around to see it.

He would be a good one but at this stage in his career, I don't think he would want to get back in the recruiting wars, Transfer portal, and NIL. I would not.

Every Steelers season, like clock-work, there is a rumor about Mike Tomlin leaving and coaching somewhere else.
This rumor *ALWAYS* comes out during the Steelers' bye week.
It is almost always started by people who are eager for the Steelers to fire Tomlin - but they realize that the Steelers never fire head coaches (it is a lifetime position, once you have it), so they try to see if they can get him to leave on his own.
Tomlin might coach somewhere else in his career - but it will definitely be in the NFL. He has zero interest in coaching college football. None. Nada.

timing for Tomlin to leave the Steelers after this year. He will have to break in a new QB next year, I can't conceive of them bringing Ben Worthlessburger back for yet another geriatric campaign.
