I’ve never watched softball. Is the pitcher usually not really worried about fielding the ball. That dribbler in the second she didn’t really try for. Then that one that hit off her in the third she took more of a defensive stance rather then trying to either knock the ball down or field it.

It depends on the pitcher, some are better fielders like

Cagle who is an incredible fielder whether on the mound or in the outfield. Haven't seen McCubbin enough to know. She is getting ground balls which is what you want. NW putting the ball in play and making us field our positions....their pitcher has our number right now.

Yeah, I hate that call too. McCubbin is a true freshman. Cagle is one of those rare players that doesn't come around often. But she's going to be good.

Really thought he might pitch Spencer or Thompson. Go for experience. Hopefully JoJo isn't hurt and that's why she's not in the lineup. Still curious to know about Hannah Goodwin.

Anyway, we know after this tournament what it is to face good pitching,.. And not just fast pitches so to speak. This girl's pitched a gem. Got all the tools that will take them far. Glad our ladies get to experience it. Easy when you're playing weak competition to get into a false sense of security so to speak.
