ACC Wide Receiver Rankings

ACC Wide Receiver Rankings
1. Clemson
I believe Clemson has the two best receivers in the conference in Sammy Watkins

The definition of awesome!

Wow. GT isn't returning any WR with a career reception?

That is unreal.

I didn't know GT used WRs? They run the ball so much.***

I would have to disagree about GaTech not relying on WR

b/c the threat of the big play to one of their ominous receivers has been a noticeable part of their offense's success, and it was often a big play to Hill or Thomas that busted games open for Tech. They killed us b/c of it. Without that legitimate threat on the outside, defenses can crowd the LOS more to stop the run with less fear of being burned.

2009 w/ Thomas: 34 ppg (ranked 15th), 422 ypg (26th)
2011 w/ Hill: 34 ppg (21st), 458 ypg (18th)

2010 w/o a legit WR threat: 26 ppg (71st), 401 ypg (36th)
2008 w/o a legit WR threat: 24 ppg (78th), 372 ypg (50th)

They still moved the ball in '08 & '10 but it didn't translate to as many points b/c they couldn't pop as many 30+ yard pass plays that either resulted in a TD or put them in scoring position.
