You have to think how many incidents like this happened that were never recorded. Not sure what they were doing or saying but I'd expect it's nothing compared to what we get at games across the south. My opinion, nothing should come of it.

If it were handled like this more often, there would be less of this behavior in the stands.

Surprisingly The Chickens and Michigan had a home and home early '80's

our feathered friends were independent at the time and had some really cool matchups. Notre Dame, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Miami - etc all faced off against the Chickens. I wish we could get some cross regional non conference games more often.
Oddly enough - Michigan stomped scar in Williams Brice but lost at home five years earlier. They also squared off in a couple of bowl games maybe during spurriers time. SC won both of those.

Just because you buy a ticket doesn't mean you get to abuse

the players. I can never understand grown men sitting in the outfield bleachers making stupid comments to outfielders all game. Same with sitting courtside at a basketball game.
I wish random people would just show up at his job and start harassing him... and have him stand there and take it...

Yes, it's mostly uncalled for. Booing should be enough if so driven.

Booing the refs comes with the territory, but every call against you isn't a wrong call. Booing the other teams coaches is ok. Booing the opposing players for cheap shots only. Never ever ever boo your own players. No reason for this behavior.
The students at the roach should be arrested for assault.

Same with Umpires. Just because you have a ticket doesn't give

you the permission to abuse them. But I will say the older the team the less you hear from fans, unless you aren't consistent with the strike zone. I was a proud college umpire for over 5 years, now to old and slow but I do miss it.

The statement released by Michigan nailed it. The coach should have had stadium security involved and not approached the fans. The coach got emotional, lost his composure, and was wrong. A public school teacher in the south would be fired for saying what the coach said.
