Just returned from Western North Carolina Annual Conference of the UMC at Lake Junaluska.

We had a wonderful, enriching experience in hallowed Methodist grounds at Junaluska.

I'm happy to report that only 2% of the UMC churches disaffiliated, representing less than 1% of the members of the conference. There will be some more disaffiliation in the next annual conference but I was extremely encouraged by the connectualism and resolve to BeUMC by most everyone present.

As a Methodist, my concern is the separation of the Methodist Church separation from the union. Perhaps the understanding the majority do not wish to bend over to LGB*&%*^&%*^&^&*

More to the point.
As Apple retailers unionize. And then Methodist un-unionize. The writing on the wall is with NIL and Trades that the players union is just around the corner if not already milking tax dollars.

Non denominational, Christian is good enough for me. In my personal opinion, marriage is between a man and a woman. It is an earthly expression of the Trinity. That being said, we all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. And one of the commandments of Christ is to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Basic English - it ain't right, but I have some different ain't rights. JC and me love you.

on this, like most things. What you want to do in your life is yours to determine. But, do not try to force your lifestyle into MY life, which is exactly what the LGBTwhatevers are trying to do when they say we must allow homosexual ministers to serve in our churches. We must allow and perform homosexual weddings in our churches.

My view is, we should welcome homosexual members, jut as we welcome any other sinner who repents. But I personally consider them to be sufferers of a specific mental illness. We should pray for them to be healed, just as we pray for ourselves and all other sinners to find redemption through a coming to Jesus. Certainly, I will be castigated for my views on this. It is what it is.

Imo, it's not some mental illness. It's more about devolved DNA than a choice or a mental deficiency or mental issue. I'm not arguing against evolution, I'm proposing that our DNA like everything else in the universe gets more corrupted every day.

the Bible says it. Psa 51:5 is teaches why we have no justification for judging one another. Many are able to refrain from judgement out of a pure heart. A knucklehead like me wants to understand why.

Preach about it every Sunday and you will lose 2/3rd of your congregation, just as our church has…..we have two LGBTQ pastors that harp on it each and every Sunday. Along with Ukraine, BLM and every other social event. It’s what the Methodist Church does now days.

Also, I did a lot of cruising and making out at Junaluska during my high school years. Hope I won’t burn.

'church" has become a hinderence to my spiritual growth. Couldn't find one that preached the gospel, in this area. So I stopped going.

explained how churches become corrupted.

"2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

The children's mother met me at the door and told me about a woman on TV who preached. I resisted listening to a 'woman preacher,' because the Bible says 'a man,' every time Paul described a preacher. After finally listening to Meyer plainly declare the Truth of God I became confused as to why I didn't understand that a woman preached.

My confusion was that I called her a preacher simply because 'The woman gave me the apple,' right? My wife called her a preacher.

United Methodist Church.

Because most of the US UMC Bishops are left leaning woke weasels, they refuse to enforce the UMC Book of Discipline as confirmed and amended by the last UMC General Conference in 2019. As such they are subverting the will of the whole UMC membership while also destroying the very institution they are duty bound to uphold. When leaders of a voluntary organization refuse to enforce the rules adopted by the members the institution will eventually crumble. This is what is driving the split and I predict the newly formed Global Methodist Church will grow as they continue to get established and formalize their membership rules and processes.

In short, the US Bishops are the problem in the UMC as they are continuing to chase leftist woke agendas that are driving wedges within the membership. They are more loyal to their leftist ideology than the General Memberships vote and IMO ultimately the bible.

Background info:
The official UMC position on homosexuality:
"The United Methodist Church does not condone the practice of homosexuality and considers this practice incompatible with Christian teaching. We affirm that God’s grace is available to all. We will seek to live together in Christian community, welcoming, forgiving, and loving one another, as Christ has loved and accepted us. We implore families and churches not to reject or condemn lesbian and gay members and friends. We commit ourselves to be in ministry for and with all persons."

The official UMC position on abortion:
"The beginning of life and the ending of life are the God-given boundaries of human existence. While individuals have always had some degree of control over when they would die, they now have the awesome power to determine when and even whether new individuals will be born. Our belief in the sanctity of unborn human life makes us reluctant to approve abortion.

But we are equally bound to respect the sacredness of the life and well-being of the mother and the unborn child.

We recognize tragic conflicts of life with life that may justify abortion, and in such cases we support the legal option of abortion under proper medical procedures by certified medical providers.

We support parental, guardian, or other responsible adult notification and consent before abortions can be performed on girls who have not yet reached the age of legal adulthood. We cannot affirm abortion as an acceptable means of birth control, and we unconditionally reject it as a means of gender selection or eugenics."

What happened at the last UMC General Conference in 2019:
Leading up to and during the 2019 General Conference, the US Bishops pushed for a pro-LGBT agenda within the church that required changing the rules of the UMC Book of Discipline. When these pro-LGBT issues were put to the Conference, they were resoundingly refuted by the general membership as all the African and Asian-Pacific and half the US delegates completely balked at changing the churches stance on homosexuality. In fact, the 2019 UMC General Conference then adopted and reaffirmed the UMC's long standing views of homosexuality (homosexuality is a sin but all are welcome in the church) as contained in the UMC Book of Discipline.

This did not sit well with the US Bishops and they have continued on a path that discards the results of the 2019 UMC General Conference. In truth the Bishops continue to bow down to the UMC academic and leftist congregations (particularly in Western USA) and are actively working against their own UMC general membership. When the US Bishops refuse to abide by the democratically decided rules of the membership they subvert the very institution they are duty bound to uphold.
