My team threw me a great shindig last night, exit interview this morning at 9:30, wife and Joonyer took me out for lunch at the Indian joint, now trying to come to grips with everyday being Saturday. Financial advisor told me I was good three years ago but I really wanted to see the project I was on finished but decided to call it quits when the company opted to let it die because it wasn't one of their core products...in spite of us being the only profitable unit in 2024.
Just short of 39 years working in the sweatshop making first yellow pages, then making internets and googles. It was time, and I was ready.

investment in what we were doing but as of the first of the year, all signs point toward getting ready to dump and run. That can only mean private equity because we have too much bloat to sell to a competitor. Most likely NOBODY is around within the next 24 months based on the intel we've pieced together. I wasn't going to stick around and be part of that, so my timing could not have been any better. The entire tech team has now resigned, and that's a death knell for maintaining a proprietary software platform.

hinted strongly to upper mgmt back at Christmas that the next bad day I have, I'm tapping out. They know I'm not bluffing. Have noticed they are leaving me alone these days.
I'm done by end of year at worst.
