Met a USC coach last night...

Last night I met a Defensive coach for the Chickens, and since I coach I was excited to pick his brain.
We got to talking about we talked about the Clemson game this past year. He shared that their sideline was STUNNED when we stopped feeding Shipley in the 2nd half. They could not stop the run and we decided to go pass heavy. They were stunned but happy about it.
Freaking Streeter...
When talking about Streeter he also shared that Streeter was going to accept the same role he is in now at UGA but with USC. Last minute decided to go to UGA.
Came away from that convo happier than ever that we got a new O.C.
No disrespect to Streeter because he lost his job, but I'm happy his job is no longer with us.

Streeter hang himself. I'm not saying that is what happened. We all know Dabo would not lose on purpose. I honestly believe, take the two fumbles away, we win handedly. Dabo still would have made the OC change at the end of the year. Our offense was in neutral and not going anywhere exciting.
BTW....enjoy hearing what he had to say.

but Coot coach was right in assessment that our running game all during the 2nd half would have bowled over their weak run D.
Next time to play ‘em and win is only 4 1/3 months away!

He stated that Beamer and the staff were real ecstatic when it was Antonio Williams who fumbled the punt since he Picked Clemson over them.

Good information, thanks for sharing. Glad Streeter didn't go to usuc, uga is bad enough but at least they won the last 2 natty's which makes it somewhat understandable. Still don't like it though.

As I kept watching the second half on my tv I kept wondering the same thing - Why were they not running Shipley the whole second half when they were having so much success in the first half - ARGHFGH!

That loss was 99% on the coaches and 1% two fumbles in 2nd half. Should have ran the ball and DJU should have been pulled as he stunk it up. I wonder if he knew he was transferring and didnt play with his heart?

They dared our coaches and dj to throw the ball and he could not. They brought pressure with LB's and gambled to stop the run. As the way you have to play as an oc, take what the defense gives you. As far as Streeter is concerned, Dabo is or should be on the headset, to know what is being called, and should and could have changed the plays called and ran the ball. What really killed us in that game was the poorly devised and called fake special team play and fumbles. Do we still not have an ST's coordinator?
