The NCAA tournament will be selected next Monday. Only the Big Ten and a few smaller conferences have to play their conference tournaments this upcoming weekend to iron out the final things.
Looks like we will be sent to either Miss State, Tennessee or South Carolina for the regionals.
Thanks. A bit surprised there's no article stating what you have. Oh well.
Anyway, any of the regionals you mention, we can win. I was just looking over our schedule. We had some really good wins. Scar improved through the year, wouldn't want them until we advance. I'd like miss st.
We gave uva a run. Had a couple head scratchers but that happens. Looks like we could use one strong pair for doubles, but we're not that far off from making a serious run. I doubt we have quite enough this year, but imo, winning a regional would be a huge success. Can't wait. Going to be exciting.
"bad" loss of the year since they ended up ranked #38, and the win over us keeps them from being on the bubble. But it was understandable coming off the tough FSU loss. That was the rough weekend of the year.
Illinois also ended up not as high as expected at #33, so that weighs our ranking down some, even though at the time it was considered respectable that we gave them such a tight match.
I would prefer to go to Starkville or Knoxville. I don't think they would send us out west to Arizona or up north to Columbia (NY), cause they usually try to keep it regional if they can.
SC did play well to end the year, beating A&M, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia all in a row and then Miss State in the SEC tourney. Lost to Texas in the SEC final. They would also want revenge on us from earlier in the year, so I hope they don't send us to SC personally.
- Also a side note, in the ACC tournament Virginia stunned Wake in the semis to give them their first loss of the year and then Stanford upset Virginia in the final to win the ACC in their first season in the league. We did not play Stanford (or Cal) this year.
