MBB sliding down the Big Board for tomorrow

Lunardi @ ESPN this morning projects Clemson sliding down to #8 seed in East, facing A10 RS champ Dayton in Brooklyn. The reward for a W there is a 2nd round date against defending national champs UConn. (Very unlikely our guys would hold up their end, but a potential Sweet 16 matchup against SC would be on table in this projection).
Jerry Palm @ CBS has Tigers #8 in South, playing Mississippi State in Memphis, w/ winner paired w/ potential #1 overall seed & current AP/Coaches #1 Houston.
Needless to say, the coaches & players have set themselves up for failure over the past 2 & 1/2 months. Don't see any path for a deep run based on projections, & d@mn sure don't expect 1 with how this team has played since 2024 calendar year began.

Maybe we’ll get knocked down to the NIT. We should have a high seeding against a poor opponent meaning a first round win is a lock.

And as recently as last Tuesday we were cruising over Syracuse at home.
I do think there is probably a little bit of overreaction going on around here.
I'm really not as bothered by the loss at Notre Dame (down a starter) or even at Wake.
The loss to BC is really concerning due to how we looked, which was terrible.
Even in some of our losses, it hasn't been all bad. And we have had some really good wins.
But BC just blew us out.
I assume the committee will look more at the whole and it will probably be apparent that we weren't the only team that got bounced early from a conference tournament.

Still looking forward to it. If we play during the early day I plan on getting my son out of school so he can see it. Doesn't happen often. We underachieved, but I'm going to allow myself to get excited.

Only a 2.5 hour drive from that campus.
But we certainly will just have to live with where they put us.
Would still like to see a 7 seed if things shake out that way.
But we did not do ourselves any favors this week.
