Just let me clear up some things from the Tulsa World

First, the Tulsa World is in love with Stoops, so they are going to do these sort of things to make him look good.
I have set in clinics with BV, and been on the practice field. His scheme is not complicated. He is a big "read and react" guy. He doesn't want you doing a lot of thinking.
The Big XII saw an offensive explosion the last few years that was unmatched by any other conference, and he still had his defenses at the top. You are going to be forced to change some things when you are going up against some of those offenses every week.
Mike Stoops is not the savior. If so, why were his defenses so bad at AZ? I'll tell you why... because he didn't have the athletes, or program, that OU has.
BV is dealing with that right now. Take a look at our personnel on defense and compare it with the guys at OU, or heck, South Carolina for that matter. We are physically small and weak compared to those guys.
BV will absolutely get us going on defense, and we'll be tough.

that Coach BV will absolutely get us going on defense.
He just needs time to build/develop his program and recruit the kinds of athletes he wants and needs.

With Anthony, Steward, Jones, Townsend, Shuey, and with Parker back, lb could be the strongest part of our defense next year. We haven't even had a group of quality starters in recent years, much less the depth we project to have next year.
