My first mators came in Saturday. Now I am on over load.
I thought it would be the "Early Girl" , but it is the beefstake.

My dad grew all kinds of tomaters growing up in nc. We made canned soup, tomato sauce to put in spaghetti, lasagna etc. but I can’t grow a ###### tomato here in Arkansas to save my life.

It's OK. You had gators on your mind. Concerning maters, I have early and very successful Park's Whoppers that are just as early as Early Girls. Enjoy.

I usually grow 40 to 50 mater plants each year

My Bride likes to can and the in-laws and relatives like them. This year, I've had the worst case of Septoria leaf spot that I can recall. I've had to pull up at least 15 plants so far. I think it's because of these late afternoon thunderstorms paired with high heat and humidity. Hopefully we'll get enough to can a few jars.
