Mangey: Build the super college football conferences

Since it seems we are increasingly heading toward two super conferences with the SEC and Big 10, what would be your custom builds for those conferences? If you can add anyone, keep anyone, and boot anyone with a 16-team limit for each conference? Some of my decisions are based on history and not necessarily current quality.
SEC: 1. Clemson 2. Bama 3. Auburn 4. Tenn. 5. Florida 6. Florida State 7. Texas 8. Texas A&M 9. LSU 10. Georgia 11. Oklahoma 12. Miami 13. West Virginia 14. Georgia Tech 15. Ole Miss 16. Arkansas
Big 10: 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. Mich. St. 4. Notre Dame 5. Penn St. 6. UCLA 7. USC 8. Nebraska 9. Wisconsin 10. Stanford 11. Oregon 12. Washington 13. Virginia Tech 14. UNC 15. Cal 16. Pitt
South Carolina booted with extreme prejudice.

And no way to WV. I wish there were a way to dump Ark and the Miss teams too. Such perpetual filler programs, always punching below their weight.

Who'd you take over WV?

I could entertain swapping BC with them; I think GT has too much history to cut. Same with Ark.; for Ole Miss, I'm just biased over their game culture.

National co-runner-up Ross Steelman two-putted for par to beat Peter Fountain 1 up, giving Georgia Tech a 3-2 victory over top-seeded North Carolina in the NCAA golf semifinals Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Yellow Jackets will play for their first national championship Wednesday. They will face Florida. Ricky Castillo birdied the third extra hole to beat Brett Roberts and give the Gators a 3-2 victory over Florida State.

But if we're going to two supers, you gotta have them somewhere. They fit more in Big 10, IMO.

Assuming football is all we care about here.
SEC boot Ole Miss and West Virginia. I just have no use for either really, I also would not shed a tear of Arkansas went away. I don't really have their replacements in mind. Probably 1 of the NC schools just so the whole state isn't forgotten about.
Big 10
VT can go. Their relevance was really a small blip on the radar when they had Mike Vick and took advantage of a floundering Clemson and FSU to win the ACC. Stanford is going to be better served in different league that serves UNC, UVA, Northwestern and the like. Either Iowa or Iowa St. can have one of those spots. They aren't great programs but care.
I think we are more likely to see 20 or 24 team conferences and at some point Fox and ESPN don't let those two play against each other. I see this (coupled with NIL and transfer portal never getting proper regulation) as the death blow that breaks college football back down to 8 school conferences and being hyper regional.

end up exploding because they're not nearly as profitable as the broadcasting corporations initially thought when people lose interest as traditions and regional rivalries start to disappear. What makes college football magic is going to get lost trying to recreate the NFL when there already IS an NFL.

I hate this realignment mess. It's the death of the sport.

The rest of us are looking forward to us adding the Carolina Pride/Hooters dome over Death Valley, converting the field to turf, and eliminating the hill in favor of platinum donor luxury mezzanine levels where they can line up for Dabo to high five them as they run down the rubberized, non-skid, OSHA approved hill ramp.
Also it will be sweet to be able to walk outside where lots 1 and 2 used to be and meander amongst the newly created Winkopp entertainment district, chock full of mid-tier national chain restaurants and bars.
Yes, I can't wait for the season to start in June for the 20 game season, and take my whole family to games for roughly $225/person/ticket before food and drink.
Change is coming man, get on board or get left out.

Conference rules dictate only ONE imaginary football program per city is allowed to join the conference, and Winthrop is closer to District 3 Stadium so the team can walk to games from campus. It was an easy choice.

Throw everyone else in two other conference and...

breakdown all 4 in pods. Pod winners playoff in two rounds then the 4 conference champs are seeded in the final two rounds.
The big guys won't go for that but it would be best for schools for each conference would have a representative in the PO. That's my democrat welfare system for college ball. Yes, it would delight me.
