Would this not make sense?

If Bama, Clemson, WASH win this weekend,
1. Alabama*** 2. Clemson*** 3. Washington*** 4. Ohio State (or a 2 loss Penn State)
***- Conference Champ
Ohio State or Penn State should be the 4th ranked team- Ohio State not being the Conference Champ, or Penn State being a 2 loss conference champ.

Not sure they'd do it, but they should.
They really really really want an OSU/Bama matchup in the finals tho.
But maybe just maybe someone will remind them of last year's final game!

i was thinking that too, but they have a guaranteed matchup

if they play in round 1. They had terrible ratings last year, wouldnt that fix it ?

I think it would be ideal

They get the guaranteed Bama/OSU matchup and one of the two in the finals. The chance of Clemson in that game against either would be a huge draw.

Espn may want that, but keep seeing people say that, like the committee has a secret agenda. U do remember who is on the committee?

And I think this is what we will see from the committee if we win the ACC and Washington wins PAC-12. If we both win, it will be interesting to see how the committee values head-to-head and conference championship vs eye test

It does, but I wouldn't expect it.
If all happens like that, will likely be: 1. Alabama*** 2. Clemson*** 3. Ohio State (bigger resume in regards to Washington/win over Penn State) <--this is where that talk about overall resume trumping conference Championship may come into play 4. Washington*** (or a 2 loss Penn State)
***- Conference Champ

to me, this would....
Dec 2, 2016, 10:04 AM
|
|
1) Alabama vs. 8) Western Michigan (highest ranked non Power 5 team)
2) Clemson vs. 7) Michigan
3) Washington v. 6) Ohio State (at large)
4) Penn St. vs. 5) Oklahoma (assuming they are B12 champ)
**top 5 spots automatically go to the conference champs
**spots 6 and 7 are the 2 highest ranked non-conference champions
**spot 8 goes to the highest ranked non power 5 team
problem solved!

Only problem with that is if you expand to 8 teams the conference championship games go bye bye.

thats fine. reg season champs is enough
Dec 2, 2016, 10:47 AM

|
or play 1 less reg season game. 8 or 9 conference games and 2 or 3 OOC games. and only allow 1 against a non-power 5 team

Giving the top five seeds to conference champs means we have a tougher game than Penn State in the first round. Conference champs (P5) should get automatic *berths*, but the seed should be based on ranking.

Seed? It has never been said that it does only that it can help you get in. A one loss OSU that does not make theIr conf championship does not Necessarily make them a worse team than a Washington team that wins their conference. It only helps you get in.
FYI I do not Like OSU

Its about resumes. BAMA/CLEM/WASH would have a Conf Champ
Dec 2, 2016, 11:24 AM

on their resume . Ohio State doesn't. No problem letting them in, but not above any conference champion with the same or better record. If Penn State gets in over OSU, fine, but they would have 2 losses = #4 spot.

anything about being worried about ohio state? he's simply making a statement for where he thinks the teams SHOULD be ranked.
i, personally, would much rather face OSU than Washington. The main reason.. 1 word.. SPEED. I dont think ohio state can match up with our speed. I think washington can. Also, i dont konw as much about washington. they are a bit of an unknown for us

...sense. Something is really wrong about Ohio Stat basically getting a bye week this weekend. And they earned their "bye week" by losing to Penn State. Absolutely crazy how this works out.
