We’ve seen DABO get pisssed after big losses (Belk Bowl to USF, WV & Bama)

and make the needed personnel, scheme or coaching chances which allowed Clemson football to flourish.

After watching him Sat night after a huge & disappointing loss I bet he will be brain storming overtime to rectify an underachieving Oline, DB’s who don’t look at the ball on 50/50 throws, a Dline with very little pass rush, not having more RB’s to trust behind ETN, better play calling (too many runs on 1st down), slow LB’ers, etc.

I doubt Dabo is losing too much sleep over taking the #4 team in the country to overtime on the road with half the starters being sidelined with injuries and illness. The loss is completely irrelevant to Clemson's playoff chances and to an ACCCG berth. I'm sure Dabo will find things to critique with both players and coaches but the idea that the Notre Dame loss is some major gut-check is not reality. It was the most meaningless Clemson loss in many years.

OK, I trust you here..

But Know I failed chemistry twice at Clemson, but made an A in Zoology class & lab too! Meth (meant Math) was my downfall.

LOL

Chemistry,

I don't think there will be a major shakeup, but the failure of both the O-line and the D-line to win in the trenches against major competition is a huge problem going forward. And if we don't find a way to deal with it the playoffs will not be kind to us.

He beat #5 UGA in 2013

Nov 8, 2020, 11:19 PM

I think that stat is beating a top 5 team at their stadium. We don't get too many of those opportunities in the ACC.

Don't feel too bad LBB. Math cut my butt too.

Yeah. I didn't want to also add that it was USF, not UCF

maybe another day.

The commentators were full of ####

Nov 8, 2020, 11:47 PM

and wrong!!!!!!

“No. 5 Clemson did just enough, rallying for two fourth-quarter touchdowns and stopping Jackson and No. 3 Louisville a yard short on fourth down with 33 seconds left to hold on for a 42-36 victory Saturday night.”

There was a time, actually not that long ago, when #### people said on TV needed to be true. ESPECIALLY when they are PAID to say #### on TV. Bunch a third rate hacks, dipsticks, dweebs and dingbats.

UGA was #4 in 81 according to my sources.

The comment was about beating a top 5 team in a true road game.

Nov 9, 2020, 12:53 AM

Not that it matters. We don’t often get the chance in the ACC. Especially now that teams like FSU and Miami suck ballz.

I believe Chemistry guy has got you there Bill . I think that most people (Dabo included ) probably see Clemson as a program that is still flourishing .

I know I do .

As far as the D, he probably just knows we need to get healthy. I would like his opinion on the oline.

At one time during Saturday night's game...

Nov 9, 2020, 9:32 AM

Clemson was without eight defensive starters. Six of them were out most of the game. Hard to blame that on the coaches.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Saying we don't have a good O-line is a gross

Nov 9, 2020, 9:38 AM

oversimplification. We do a good job of pass blocking, for the most part. It is in run blocking that we are not good. Those are two different skills. If we want to get better at run blocking, we need to bring in a run blocking specialist coach to augment what we already have. Ask yourselves, what schools run the ball GREAT, year in and year out?

I am sure, as meticulous as Dabo is, he has already asked these questions. If we have not made changes, it is because there is not someone out there WHO IS AVAILABLE AND WANTS TO COME HERE who can make our situation better. Dabo would not just stand pat otherwise.

Dabo doesn't have the luxury...

Nov 9, 2020, 10:25 AM

of being able to just go out and hire another coach. NCAA rules dictate that there can be no more than ten full-time assistant coaches on staff.

However, he could do what Saban and other coaches often do by hiring an analyst which is effectively an assistant to the assistant. As of last count, I believe Saban had close to 55 "analysts" on staff.

Analysts aren't supposed to coach the players but there is no rule that says they can't be up in the box wearing a headset.

It is past time to look at special teams***
