What nefarious acts are we trying to prevent?

So Chinese people buy land near a military base… and then what? I don’t understand what we are trying to prevent.

DO YOU NOT REALIZE THE IMMINENT DANGER HERE?

THEY COULD BUILD A SECRET CHINESE MILITARY BASE RIGHT NEXT TO THE US MILITARY BASE, FOR GOD'S SAKE.

they don't need land; just trucks loaded with cheap drones

We just watched Ukraine covertly park a bunch of drones near Russian military bases and then use them to attack their air craft. You too dense to make the itsy bitsy tiny little mental step it would take to think China might have an interest in doing the same thing here? Or would you actually support our primary global enemy taking out our military bases. So hard to tell the difference between morons and American hating traitors on the left these days.

Not like theres no other roads, highways, truck stops, commercial warehouses

Parks, wilderness areas etc. in the vicinity of military installations where drones could be launched.

Just spit balling, but property owned by the Chinese government or other Chinese entities might become more obvious and therefore come under greater scrutiny?

He didn't think of that before his pathetic rant. It's not like Ukraine owned the land next to Russia's air bases. Typical MAGAt logic.

Were those drones launched from Ukrainian-owned land next to Russian military bases?

2025 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-19b.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So theyre going to secretly make drones here?

Jun 4, 2025, 2:07 PM [ in reply to Re: What nefarious acts are we trying to prevent? ]

Or smuggle them in? There’s an entire ocean between us. They’re either going to invade us or not. They’re not going to sneak attack a base here or there with the couple drones they theoretically get into the US. Ukraine and Russia are physically next to each other. And in the middle of an active war.

I'm sure they plan to be simple cattle ranchers with a home on the range

For reasons of national security, we shouldn’t allow ANY land sales in the U.S. to China or Chinese nationals, Iran, North Korea, etc.

Some things actually matter. There’s a fat chance, we could buy land in those countries near their military installations.

We just caught a Chinese dude smuggling in a fungus that could have had adverse effects on our food supply.

Yeah, it’s really no big deal. This fungus already is here and causes over $1 billion dollars damage to our crops annually.

There’s no harm in a Chinese individual, one of whom is active in the Chinese Communist Party, lying and concealing that they were bringing this fungus in for further research.

Perhaps we can offer these individuals a job with the Dept of Agriculture or a Clemson Extension Office so they can be of assistance.

I really don’t know why we care about the Chinese conducting weather balloon research over our country either and the forthcoming nature of the Chinese government over COVID certainly allays any silly concerns one might have.

Seriously, there may have been no nefarious motives by the Chinese researcher at Michigan, but then again, who knows.

The default should be to take these matters seriously, not adapt an attitude that it’s not a concern.
