Clowney was arguably one of the best DE in the land........

Dec 15, 2012, 4:04 PM

and Clemson established a running game against them. LSU obviously has a balanced, ferocious D line but I think Clemson can expose them better than USC. It's been more of a mental thing for Clemson and USC in my opinion. This is a neutral location with a chance for Clemson to really get some redemption. They will either man up, or just dress up. Let's hope they man up. Clemson is extremely capable of running up on LSU quick.......Zack isn't exactly the comeback king. It's really about who wants it more, or if it's just a "lets get it over with type of thing"......if they show up the way they did against Vtech last year in the ACCCG after the whipping in Columbia we will be in good shape!!!! LSU is only favored by 4

Clowney is on another level from everyone else

Dec 15, 2012, 4:05 PM

He single handily beat Clemson, take him away and Clemson blows out SC.

that's my point.....LSU is balanced on D, but they don't have a Clowney from end to end......

BryantTiger...I totally agree. Clowney by himself be us. He was in Boyd's head from the start. Why we didn't double and triple team him from the start baffles me. We should have neautralized him much the other teams di to us with Sammy. I hate to lose to the coots.

agree, the entire offense got rattled and never hit its stride.

It is a shame would could not secure Clowney. It also sucks that we had to settle for Timothy over Brandon Shell at Tackle.

What about on 3rd and 18 we dropped 8...

Yep we did have a running game. And Chad Morris

Dec 15, 2012, 4:28 PM

was a moron and abandoned it. What was he thinking? Too busy on monster.com?

Yeah I called him a moron. He and his pisspoor play calling lost that game for us. #### him.

plays like a both.......and DE and LB do switch on and off the line sometimes.....anyways, good looking out

Re: Clowney was arguably one of the best LB in the land.....

Dec 15, 2012, 4:58 PM

they do not have a clowney but what they do have is very good. clowney is our only defensive player that would start for them. their defense is the real deal.

Re: Clowney was arguably one of the best LB in the land.....

Dec 15, 2012, 5:16 PM

I agree, but I don't think Clemson is mentally blocked by them like Clowney. They may have a solid D but they aren't all Clowneys....

Re: Clowney was arguably one of the best LB in the land.....

Dec 15, 2012, 5:40 PM

i think you are absolutely right about the mental part. i think y'alls guys are under a ton of pressure to beat us and i think they will play looser against lsu. will still be tough to score though. the good thing is i think yalls defense can contain them if yall play well. i dont think its a horrible matchup for clemson. i do think you will need some big plays to get some points because that defense wont give up alot of sustained drives. luckily for yall, you have some big play guys. could see it going either way. intriguing matchup that i will definitely watch.

Re: No...not butt hurt

Dec 15, 2012, 5:43 PM [ in reply to No...not butt hurt ]

okay, so back to the LSU game.........so it's pretty much an LSU over Clemson margin or percentage by standards from what I've read...........Either Clemson plays an "A" game flawless and has a shot, or it's a low scoring game and LSU comes out on top with a few highlighted Clemson TDs that will give us a ray of hope. Clemson is so fast they should be able to break outside, but that's just what I think. I'm going with Clemson upsetting LSU in the Peach and claiming dominance to Death Valley! GO CLEMSON TIGERS!!!!!!

Good sport

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lsu d

Dec 15, 2012, 5:41 PM

I agree that we can score points on Lsu defense, but we'll need a balanced attack. I hope we start by getting the ball to our play makers before giving them a chance to rattle Tajh. Also disappointed we missed on Sam Montgomery. We "need" to get a stud DE back on the roster. Come on down Carl Lawson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Clowney was arguably one of the best DE in the land........

Dec 15, 2012, 5:46 PM

Good lord. A coot can't even agree with us to give props to one of their own.

Alrighty then- y'all suck balls through n' through.
Doo Doo is one hell of a player, but we'll just say he's mediocre so our house coots feel happy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let's say we play lights out on offense, lsu will still get

Dec 15, 2012, 5:51 PM

Thieir share of 3 and outs. The first concern is still whether or not we can do the same. This is why we struggle against tough defenses. If we can't get off the field, our offense vs their d will not matter. I do think we will put forth a better gameplay and have more success against their d than our last game(hopefully we learned that we cannot play on offense trying to compensate for our weaknesses on d) that sure seemed to be the mindset going in against the coots. My main concern is that they can impose their will against our d with even more success. If we have to win in a shoot out, I would, much rather see a d gameplan that is more aggressive instead of a bend but don't break approach, otherwise we will get wore down with long drives and have trouble getting into a rhythm when we have the ball.
