I am sure at this point in his recruitment he is a pretty savvy interviewee but he sure says a lot and takes great pains to compliment Clemson. I like this guy, he's a beast on the field.

"I talk to Brent every chance I get". Sounds to me that he calls Brent more than Brent calls him. That came across pretty positive for Clemson.

I saw the interview on TV and I thought it was very positive also. Mind you, he didn't go as far as saying Clemson was his choice, but it was more positive than I expected.

That was Kareem walker. I think you know who has him rated as the #1 back in the country and he's a Michigan commit. That's the biggest problem we have to land Gary. Michigan is getting every stud out of that area and Gary is either friends with them or played with them.

anyway. We're really set up for next year.
I also picked up on that - he sees our success, but also sees how his presence makes us even better.

understands what CLEMSON is all about: great coaches, family atmosphere, coaches who care about the individuals, and supporting fan base. Hopefully, we are what he is looking for.

I would love to hear a michigan recruiting guy ask the same questions about Michigan and see his answers. Man oh man, this guy would look good in Clemson orange though.

It will be an interesting recruiting year. Championships and title game. And we were taking a small class. What's to come ... What's to come?!

Sounds promising

Also sounds like he's given this a lot more thought than anyone thought. The prospect of being able to eat a homecooked meal at the home of family seems to be something that he wants. Don't discount the value of good food when you're a 300 pounder.
Sounds to me like we have a MUCH better shot than anyone is saying. I think him coming down for a visit is key. I think Christian Wilkins might also help in this aspect too. Him being a top DT from the northeast potentially coming south. I like our chances.

Recruiting Question
Jan 3, 2016, 12:40 PM
|
|
I take it we have another 5 players we can take in this class, roughly. But who are those players? 2016 Class
Diondre Overton...down to CU/NC state, with the Pack a real possibility.
Rashan Gary...CU in th mix, but still a stretch.
John Simpson....how serious is he about Clemson?
I just have a feeling, there will be some excitement/ drama on NSD-- that we haven't seen in a few years.
So who else is in the mix?

Done. He's a Tiger. Start counting your money!
Hard to theorize about surprises - maybe a Georgia or Auburn flip or an unexpected early commit of a 2017 prospect?
