very disappointing, but par for the course for the NCAA. the only consolation is knowing that UNC boosters have had to spend millions to various people in the system to make this go away quietly. where are the AD's from the other ACC schools? The Charlotte Observer is strangely quiet now. Advertising pressure from booster?? John Swafford needs to go and tobacco road no longer has the power to keep him power. lets clean up this mess starting with the man in charge who had to know this was going on.

AND TO BOOT, UNC IS PARTNER WITH THE NCAA IN ITS OWN INVESTIGATION??!!

Welcome to the ACC....it has always been this way and always will be....they were crooked even back in the Fran McGuire days....and the new kids in the conference will be amazed at the penalties that will be handed down to fellow members. It depends on who you are but make no mistake, this is the TTC (Tarturd conference) more than the ACC

Allowing 'paper' classes for everyone , not just athletes, makes it ok by NCAA standards yet the bogus classes keeps athletes eligible to compete with other schools who play by the rules. The regular students who take these classes may get improved grades and be allowed to remain a student (or at least have a higher GPR) but they aren't competing with students of other schools on the playing field for the big bucks sports provide It is not fair to allow a school to put a player on the field who isn't a legitimate student and it isn't fair to help that player become a legitimate student by bending the rules. UNC is very guilty of this....imo
