7 games left..4 could be pretty tough...
winning 5 of 7 is good goal going into postseason.

This team has issues. Pitching is horrendous. And hitting is inconsistent at best. It’s one thing to have a couple of bad games but this has been going on for weeks now. This is on coaching. I love Bakich but his assistants are a different story, especially pitching. No excuse for getting beat down like this in multiple games.

Helluva time to be slumping. Come on guys. And the hideous baserunning blunders is ALL coaching. This team isn’t getting past regionals with this garbage play.

The hitting with runners in scoring position is terrible. But I pin this loss on Backish. Why he starts Bell, why he even plays Bell, is a mystery to me. If I’m not mistaken, he came from WFU. If so, I’d suggest he enter the portal at his first opportunity. But today, as soon as we had a pitcher who was being somewhat successful, he was taken out. What’s with that? And I agree, where are the pitching and hitting coaches? And what are the coaches thinking with the runners? We had game 1 won, but for some really dumb base running mistakes. When you score 9 runs you should expect to win most of the time. Fortunately, I missed the game from the 12-9 point on. Evidently we just decided to throw batting practice for FSU. Just as we did in the blowout loss to Louisville. At this rate, we’ll be fortunate to host a regional. I hate to say it, but this team seems to be demoralized, and they have every right to be. Losing sucks. Losing because of poor coaching sucks even more. How can a team play so well against UGA and so poorly against NCSU and FSU? Come on Tigers. Prove me wrong- please.

Sorry, Bakich, not Backish. Spell check is always right.

You're thinking about Lee. Tallen is going to be good. Ashamed he was hurt all season or imo, he'd be further along. He's just a freshman. Got good stuff. It was a big ask and a gamble, but he'll learn from this. Got to learn to control the hype. Knaak is a rare breed in which could control his pressure from the beginning. He was gripping the baseball too tight and holding it too long, milliseconds on his release. Then I'm sure after a couple hits, walks etc, he tried to guide it over the plate. All the batters had to do is time it.
He'll be ok. Darden is apparently still injured or I'm sure we'd have seen him.
Now, as for hitting? I'm not sure why we brought in the one year grads that we did. I assume they were the best we could get. But neither had big bats. The one thing I'll say negative about EB, is he didn't play (early) and against weak teams, some of the freshman we recruited. Who knows what they would have done, but you don't know until you try. We rotated one position, right field. Even if it meant a couple mid-week losses, one of them may have developed.
He had no choice but to do it with pitching. The only thing I can think is contrary to what he said pre-season, he knew we were weak sauce and he played the ones he hoped would develop during the year. Imo, the reverse has happened. We've not grown a bit.

Thanks for the correction regarding Bell vs Lee. And for the other information as well. It's very useful.

I have to give it to coach Bakich as he has done a great job doing away game postgame interviews this season so far,win or lose...Monte Lee would never do postgame interviews after a road loss and barely if any did away game wins
