When my kids were little, I loved camping out with them on 4th of July. They both loved the fireworks as long as I was there.

Those are the kind of people you want to run your lawnmower, weed eater, loudest blower you have and blow your horn at a phantom dog about 7 in the morning to make all the noise you can.

In this heat my lawn mower cranks up at 7 sharp this time of year. I live in a small neighborhood. I’m not killing myself so you can have peaceful sleep. Respect is a 2 way street.

Na, I’ll mow when I feel it’s the coolest which is in the morning. I would wait till after 9 and use my lights if that’s the case. It would be dark. I work 5 days a week in the heat. Not looking to do it anymore. Sorry not sorry

I have 3 dogs. One is totally scared of fireworks and will hide behind the counter downstairs, one gets nervous but is ok just looking around every once in a while, and the 3rd could give a care and will sleep. But the horses are all scared and freak out. I don't really want to be running around after midnight (or anytime for that matter) chasing after one or all if they go through the pasture fence.

Yep, they drove my baby boy nuts, he would run from one door to the other door wanting to get out and get after what was making that noise. But he done the same thing with thunderstorms. He was that Rotty that's on my profile pic, and if you know anything about that breed, they are very protective with they're pack, and I guess where he would hear that noise, he was wanting to protect me and momma from it bc he would have a fit to get outside where it was coming from. The couple of times that I did let him out, he would run himself to death running from one side of the yard to the other toward where the noise was coming from.
I had him trained pretty good to come when I called him, but when he was running after that firework noise, he wouldn't pay me any attention, I would have to go get him and make him come back in the house...

I've never been a fan of fireworks because they totally stressed out my childhood dog. My most recent dog thought they were mildly entertaining which made holidays much easier for both of us.

Waste of money is in the eye of the beholder. I think Disney is a huge waste of money but memories and seeing the looks on my kids faces, is priceless. All the money in the world can’t replace that. Fireworks are the same, they love them.

My Son said the other day that it was to hot to mow his grass. I said get up at 6:30 a little dew won't hurt. He says the neighbors are asleep......not if you start mowing they ant. Just one more reason to live in the country! Nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away and they be trailer trash.

I cut my grass at night all the time, and I Like for the grass to be damp bc it helps the blades to last longer when they're not pulling all that sand up grinds them down. I have a ZERO turn that takes 3 blades and they've been on the mower for 3 years now bc I want cut if the ground is really dry...

Every time I hear fireworks pop, I think to myself, they had nothing better to do with their money but to blow it up, bc that is exactly what's happening to it, and you get nothing back for it other than a quick pop and it's over...

How about taking them to a large free fireworks show where the show is 50x better than little pops and sporadic bursts of light? The biggest issue I have is people that shoot them off in neighborhoods which btw they’re not supposed to do here where I live to begin with. The houses are pretty close together and we have 4 neighborhoods that are all connected so there are many houses. The clowns behind me usually do them for 2-3 nights in a row and have been for years. I have to sedate the dog multiple nights in a row 🙄

Tonight is the night of July 4th. Many people jump the gun and shoot fireworks and act insane on July 3rd. The City of Clemson had a big fireworks display on July 3rd, not the fourth. Independence Day is July 4th, a legitimate federal holiday. Happy fourth!

You would think that with the severe lack of rain that we have experienced and continue to experience, that folks would have better sense than to shoot fireworks but that is not the case.

Agreed 100%. I worry way more with the houses so close together in the neighborhood about fire when the weather is this dry. I get tired of picking up burned out bottle rocket sticks in my yard the day after the 4th and New Years. Even found them in the shrub beds within inches from the house. You can't control where they land.
