Not to mention the best offensive coordinator we ever had, and the most successful college football coordinator of the CFP era.

"Most succesfful college football coordinator of the CFP era"
He was not even the most successful college football coordinator on the team.
Tony Elliot 2015: 16th in scoring offense, 11th in total offense
2016: 14th in scoring offense, 12th in total offense
2017: 32nd in scoring offense, 38th in total offense
2018: 4th in scoring offense, 3rd in total offense
2019: 4th in scoring offense, 5th in total offense
2020: 4th in scoring offense, 10th in total offense
2021: 78th in scoring offense, 95th in total offense
AVG: 24.6 in scoring Offense, 28.5 in total offense
Brent Venables 2015:24th in scoring defense, 10th in total defense
2016:10th in scoring defense, 8th in total defense
2017:2nd in scoring defense, 4th in total defense
2018:1st in scoring defense, 5th in total defense
2019:3rd in scoring defense, 6th in total defense
2020:18th in scoring defense, 15th in total defense
2021:2nd in scoring defense, 9th in total defense
AVG: 8.5 in scoring defense, 8.14 in total defense
Even if you take out last year Elliot only goes to 14th and 15.2 respectively

statistic on calling the right play at the right time to win game. I think that stat is win vs loss record and maybe a little margin of victory icing on the cake. Just a thought

Who are the top 5 offensive coordinators of the CFP era?
And from there, post their rankings over the 7 years we're talking about. Like you did for Tony. You have to take into account years of success. Tony's average that you calculated over 7 years, plus Tony's unequaled accomplishments, who else has done that?
I agree 100% that Brent Venables has been the best DC of the CFP era. But that's not what I meant. While Tony is also clearly one of the best coordinators period in the CFP era, he has been the very best OC of the era. I stand by that.
And the thing is, clemson2000c got personal about Tony. No need for that, let alone the fact Tony is, again, a great man, a Tiger player, graduate, coach, and MOST SUCCESSFUL OC in the history of Clemson .. and oh yeah he just had one of the best runs as OC in college football history while here. So show some respect, that was kind of the overall point. Agreed?

What "approved" means is there was nothing Congress could do

to block it.
Still needs so much work on structure and guardrails though. That's what Dabo and others are talking about. It wasn't blocked by Congress, and it went utterly wild in one year. There must be some governing body to control it with clear and ENFORCED guidelines, or college football cannot be sustained.
