Looks like I won't be flying my flags this weekend...

...except, of course for the GEE-HAW'D!! flag, which will be flying proudly at Carney-Finley on Saturday.
Yesterday, I was in a small town about 30 miles from Faynam, down in the swamps, working on a story on a blind cat rescue center (cool place, btw!) While there, I was chatting with a couple of kids who volunteer there.
As we chatted, they wanted to know how I ended up in the career I'm in. My standard reponse: "When you're a Clemson grad, all things are possible."
One of the kid's eyes lit up. He said he was the only Clemson fan in his class (ECU and Wuffies dominate) and he would love to see them play some time. After I wrapped up my story, I trotted back out to the car and brought back in my flags and handed them to him.
"Well, when you get a chance to see the Tigers play, go in style."
Figure I can always get more flags ... but how often do we get the chance to cement the spirit of Clemson in the swamps of North Carolina?

Of Clemson favors in my car where ever I go. You would be surprised how many youngsters I run into who are Tiger fans. There are more lovers of things Clemson in NC than you think. Spread the word. 99per cent of the .clemson people ARE NOT like some of the characters who post on tent!

a 45 minute drive in and around the city, I have seen at least a dozen autos flying orange and purple and have yet to see any coot flags.

With pin on back..and big white PAW on front.
Cost only $1 & Only place to find them has been at Ibrahim's stores (one is downtown Clemson in old theatre with marquee).
Kids & grow ups love them..and have given them out for over 25 yrs from here to Calif.

Tiger. He is from the Northwest and football is not his thing, but he told the story that his dad always got $2 bills from the bank and stamped them with a Christian fish symbol, then gave them as tips around town. His dad told him someone else was doing the same thing with Tiger Paws. I explained to him that thousands of us have distributed those bills at every bowl game.
When he retired me last year, I gave him a Clemson $2 bill.
