I’ve been hearing him more. I want to know more about him but he has a much needed message. He has the ability to articulate what needs to be said more than any other Republican I’ve heard. Again, I need to know more but based on what I’m seeing I just might vote for him.

a post, yet again and again, into a post on Trump. I'm a Desantis guy. This guy intrigues me too.
You obsess over trump and can turn a post of someone dying of cancer into trump bashing. Its odd and disturbing.

He's very obviously an intelligent, well-informed guy that loves this Country. He has a clear understanding of the issues and a coherent, thoughtful and rational stance on policy. Still, he'll be an afterthought in the primary. That's the unfortunate reality of modern American politics. Information availability is at an unprecedented level, yet voting is still largely based on uninformed tribalism.

My son was a law school classmate of this young man. My son said Vivek stood out in his ability to engage and question his classmates and professors. Vivek’s intellect is off the charts.
During law school he was working on his startup and law school was almost a hobby.
My understanding is that Vivek is now worth north of $500 million dollars.
I doubt he has a chance in hell, but it would be so very refreshing to have someone able to articulate conservative positions well and in a non confrontational way that is hard to refute.
The guy is absolutely brilliant.

Dude is high fiving himself for defining a word in six minutes. How many takes do you think it took? Also lol at America as a merit based society.

Have you listened to his ideas?
What has he said that you think will be deleterious to the wellbeing of American citizens?

a clip of him defending Trump under the "it's all PoLiTiCaL" umbrella. I wouldn't get my hopes up about anyone hitching a ride on that wagon. Apparently, he went to law school which means he knows better, but is just lying to the base...par for the course really.

Fair enough. I haven't seen the quote you're referring to, so I'll take your word for it. But I haven't seen anything from him that indicates he's a Trump apologist. He's announced his candidacy in opposition to Trump, so I assume he's, at least in some measure, not aligned with Trump. His "America First" message seems more policy oriented and sincere with a more rational approach. Not simply raw tribalism.

My guess is that he’s creating ‘brand awareness’ and learning how to raise money in this initial run in the GOP primary.
Given his talking points thus far, there’s nothing not to like.
Let’s hope that he raises enough money to get his name out there, and for us all to see what policies he’d propose and how he defends those policies.

I want to hear more. He may be averse to self funding his campaign, but he’s definitely able to spend a lot of his own dough if so inclined.
I’m curious cac, what nation offers the chance to improve one’s lot in life better than in America?
Certainly, there are people with advantages here, but in America, a person still has a chance based on merit to achieve great things. There is no guarantee of that, but merit still matters despite attempts to exchange that for equity, where merit matters not at all.
No doubt privilege exists but it’s certainly far from hopeless to raise above one’s birth station in America. Where again does merit matter more than here?

Look into the Nordic model
Mar 21, 2023, 8:40 PM

specifically Finland. Even if you think America is the closest to a meritocracy, do you really think that means we shouldn't try to improve? This is as good as it gets folks! I honestly think one of the big deceptions in politics is that if the system works for you, you assume it works for everyone. Everything worked out for me and I worked hard so that must mean that if you work hard everything will work out, right?

Finland with a homogeneous population of 5.5 million people may not be the best example to compare to us. America is no utopia, but I think it’s pretty grand.
Of course, there’s always room for improvement.
I don’t assume anything and no there is no guarantee that things will work out if a person works hard, but if a person does apply themself, there is an excellent opportunity to have a decent income and quality of life. I don’t feel it’s society’s role to guarantee that though.
America has warts. America is imperfect for sure, but I see things in a more positive light than you do, which is fine.
