the first Gamecock Walk was the first game of their 2008 season. Dabo took over mid-year 2008 and instituted one at Clemson. He wasn’t copying them though, he was copying Auburn. I’m not sure if Spurrier was copying Auburn or UT or UGA. Auburn has done it since the 1960s and grew to 20k by 1989 Iron Bowl so I’m sure that was what Dabo was thinking of. Both UT and UGA copied Auburn along the way so Spurrier could have got the idea there. I imagine a lot of other schools have done it. We have taken it to a whole different level now though and our stadium /parking lot, lockeroom location make it a great set-up.
