I swallowed a 9 volt battery Day 2
Dec 20, 2022, 1:22 PM
|
|
I was changing the batteries on my smoke detector yesterday and due to a hillarious series of events I accidentally swallowed the replacement battery when I fell off of a ladder.
So far I am experiencing some mild indigestion and occasionally I get that tingly-numb feeling in my large intestine. Hopefully the casing holds and I am able to pass this sucker cleanly because I can not afford to buy another one.

If you chase the battery with a box of baking soda everything should balance out. I would suggest you spend some time at the local home depot and abuse their facilities while sparing your new faux porcelain throne. Things could get a little explosive in the back end.

Hope it had enough charge to give you a little boost. Great inventions are sometimes just accidents gone awry.

Don't most of those detectors take C cells? Have you ever entered a hot dog eating contest?

Seeing that a "C" cell is 1.5 v, I am worried about the 9 volt size.

they send a charge if bridged across a conductive material, like your tongue, or in this case my large intestine.

You'll be ok. I find that if you take the battery out of those things the beeping stops and you never have to replace them again!

I hope you’re pooping in the backyard or somewhere you can just grab the battery. Plus, you could chip the toilet if you go there

Sorry about the battery. I've heard that swallowing one is no problem as long as they aren't corroded.
