Our access to the playoff is not currently under threat. Cincinnati was the media darling BECAUSE of their inferior conference. If the ACC gets raided, it will either include us, or it won’t damage things so severely we can’t get into the CFB. Texas basically just killed it’s national championship hopes for the foreseeable future. The idea they would make it out of the SEC any better than the big12 or 8 is fantasy. Hold. Don’t panic.

You are missing the most important point : $$$$. This builds facilities, pays coaches, funds NIL, marketing, etc. with such a huge gap with others we will not be able to keep up. IMHO.

So you think a 2 loss Power 2 team would not get in the playoff over a weakened ACC champ? A Super B1G and SEC are going to have all the Power when it comes to the CFP.

...super conferences there won't be a CFP.
There would be a NC involving only teams from those two leagues. Non-member institutions will all be playing in a different sandbox.
Clemson won't be getting invited as the ACC Champion unless the ACC is one of the two super-conferenes.

Well some of this has been brought on by the SEC wanting a bigger playoff. More good playoff games will increase revenue as well.

The whole point of this expansion by the $EC and Big10 is for them to be able to tell the NCAA to pound sand and E$ECPN and Fox Sports will have exclusive access and the contract money for playoff expansion games.

The only goal here is to form the 2 supers comprising 40-odd members, withdraw from any NCAA oversight, negotiate all new TV AND separate streaming contracts, keep all the money, exclusive playoffs and Greg Sankey as Lord Emperor.
It’s not going to happen, it already has.
