Dabo’s success made the money flow in. So many facilities were improved as a result. I’ve lost count of the ACC championships from various sports since Dabo got the BOT motivated.
Now in only year 6 softball joins the championship parade.

It’s a fact just as much as Bowden wouldn’t even take recruits into the locker rooms on visits. He knew about facilities at other schools.
Heck even during Dabo’s time here our rinky dink indoor facility was a laughingstock. You don’t remember the pro day when NFL brass deemed it unsafe? They had to move it outside in the pouring rain.

Phillips was hired because he was known as a facility guy. We built the WEZ when Bowden was here and had plans in place for more upgrades before Dabo became head coach.

That WEZ was thrown together just like the first Littlejohn renovation when we had to play in Greenville.
Yes TDP had more plans but the old BOT still thought the facilities Danny used were just fine. Dabo met with the BOT and sold them on the future.
That initial WEZ had a lot in common with the first Littlejohn renovation. Both were a waste of time and money. Compared to the competition when both projects were completed the facilities were dated the day they opened.

Without Dabo the basketball program would have never been able to turn the corner. It's amazing what Dabo has done for basketball. Hopefully they name the court after Dabo sometime soon. It would be a great touch for all he has done.

You are forgetting that the spending on football facilities started with Tommy Bowden convincing the BOT build the West End Zone, which was the first major football facility project since the north upper deck was added in 1983. Who knows, maybe our young WR Coach at the time, encouraged Bowden to push the BOT.

In 2006, 2008, and 2009 Clemson's football spending was greater than the median of ACC schools; in 2007 it was at the median. I'm pretty sure you're not good at math so let me splain it you; in a 12 member cohort group being above the median is waaay better than DEAD LAST.
PS being a member at tiger illustrated doesn't make you as special as you think it does. Many folks here, including me, have memberships over there too. Maybe Larry Williams can offer a remedial course for guys like you who need to bone up on Clemson "facts".

Dabo has enhanced the money flow in and greatly increased the value of Clemson. He has been a great leader for our University, but like Danny Ford said many times as our coach on the IPTAY trail, Clemson is much bigger than one man. He was right but after he left we had to go through 3-4 coaches to find the right guy in Dabo. Dabo is much more than FB coach for us, but I can’t say he built it. He has added great value and raised us to new heights.
