WTHeck!
Thought a FB school couldn't excel in round ball!
I remember years ago that they were very good too so no surprise.
The top 10 are:
Bama
Houston
Kansas
Purdue
UCLA
TX
AZ
Marquette
Baylor
ZAGs (whom I cheer for often).
TN is like #13 with 23-10 record. That win-loss # seems familiar!!

The SEC has actually had quite good success over the years in basketball despite being southern football schools. I posted this a few days ago. There’s no reason Clemson can’t have the same success. The only thing preventing Clemson from being good in basketball is commitment from the administration. The Clemson brand is why softball and lacrosse are ahead of schedule. We can recruit nationally for any sport these days. We won another national championship in soccer recently. We have a very good golf program that has won a national championship. Florida State is the only school that has been to the college World Series more times than we have without winning a championship. Actually we should’ve won in 2006 and 2010. I blame it 100% on Jack because both times we played South Carolina and only needed one win but went 0-4 in Omaha against them. We played tense and had a lot of errors and mistakes. Ray Tanner had them loose, whereas Jack hard us wound up tight as tics.

SEC schools are getting way more money in revenue from their tv deals than ACC schools. Alabama has more money to invest in basketball because of this.

When Florida and Arkansas were dominant programs, they weren’t getting a lot more money.
Money is not an issue at Clemson. Look at the money we have put into softball. Look at the facilities we have.
This is very simple. It’s about commitment from the University. For whatever reason we have never been committed to basketball. You can make all the excuses you want but it’s really that simple.

sec has way more money to invest to bball than clemson does cause of tv contracts. clemson has made the decision to invest in football. bama can do both

That was not the case in the 70s or the 80s or the 90s. Clemson has simply never been committed to basketball success. Look at the money we have put into softball. Look at our facilities for other sports. And the money has only gotten crazy in sports over the last 20 years. we weren’t committed before that. Clemson has plenty of money. You folks love making excuses. We simply have never made a commitment to basketball.
Even in football we have had good times and bad times and what has been the common thread? The level of commitment at that given time.

It just proves it can be done, if, and it's a big if, the university administration is committed to the basketball program. Clemson's administration is obviously not.
