What great music - great voice, great guitar, great lyrics. The man was a real talent. Before I got more familiar with him, I used to call him the Canadian James Taylor, but after listening more to him, I think James Taylor is more the American Gordon Lightfoot. I was just a kid in the 70s, so was only familiar with the "hits" of the day, but as I've gotten older, I've gotten more into the 70s music that isn't as frequently played on oldies radio - if at all - and discovered so many great songs, and he accounts for many of those. What an incredible musical legacy he left for us!
A few of his songs that are lesser known, but I think are still great songs - Summer Side of Life, the Circle is Small, Beautiful, and Race among the Ruins.

I only found out in the last couple of months that he wrote "Early Morning Rain." I always associated that song with Peter, Paul, and Mary.

we saw him years ago on a stormy night much like the Fitz must have encountered. I have pic of the Fitz and have been to the shipwreck museum and Lake Superior. Much of this interest sparked by his song.
He gave a great show but went from song to song with very little banter. So if you liked his music it was great and we did enjoy it.

I bought his Box Set several years ago. I was in my early 20’s and heard several songs by him I liked, so I figured I’d buy all his songs in a box set. Am I ever glad I did. I still listen to all those frequently to this day

I too sorta grew up with him in the 70's! Had the opportunity to see him in a concert in Wilmington Delaware 2-3 years ago which meant he was probably 80-81 years old - That night he performed about a two hour concert with no break or intermission whatsoever - just continuous - and of course some of his great stories worked in!!!! Such a talent! He will be missed!

He would have been okay if he hadn’t recorded that gosh awful “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”. What was he thinking? Or smoking?
