Completely agree. Like I’ve said before, more people will have their lives ruined by the governments restrictions than by the virus itself.

this is what came up when I ran the search. she missed the sectional, but this is a fine example of mid century modern loveseat design. She said I get free delivery by next tuesday.

But don't complain to me when someone farts in it.

That is exactly why technology will be the demise of things as we know it. You ask for a sectional, you get a loveseat and you take it. God forbid it has a broken leg when you get it. You won't be able to sit down for a month. Go to the store you bring it home today, not next Tuesday, it's a sectional and it ain't broken.

If the press were asked to give up their first amendment rights, do you think they would for ANY reason?
Yet we the citizenry have yielded our rights to assemble peaceably, to stop practicing corporate religion, to stop pursuing liberty and happiness (inalienable rights of the Declaration that the courts consider constitutional) and the quality of life we choose, the value of our private property has been slashed, all in the name of guaranteed health care.
No one would be so asinine to ask the question as it really was implied: "Mr President, how much authority do you have to RESTORE THE RIGHTS you and the governors demanded people give up for the public good?"
A: Total authority.
"What? Total authority!? Where does the Constitution give you total authority to restore freedom to Americans? You are so arrogant! This will be tonight's headline!"

Amendment 1 of the COTUS has been trampled nationwide during this crises. Amendment 2 has been trampled in moat blue states. We should NEVER, for any reason, give up our COTUS rights.

South Carolina Real Estate Commission just up and required that all Realtors had to use your first name on your license, advertising, cards, signs, etc. Well, if you go by your first name, no problem. But, if you are like many and go by your middle name, and have done so for over 35 years as a Realtor, IT SUCKED. And there was no debate. NONE. NADA!! Government made a decision, stated a law, and that was it. Oh, and as an added insult, the people that changed the law are mostly LAWYERS. I am pretty confident, that lawyers did not impose this same burden upon themselves. The argument by the state, at least to me, was that it was too hard for someone to file a complaint against a Realtor if they could no find them in the state registry. When I asked, then why can't we just use our License # on all adds,etc......Son, you would have thought I called them the worst names in the slang dictionary. Has it cost me money, probably. Has it cost me grief......Well, how would you like to all of a sudden be referred to as

boring documentary, but should be required viewing, and the main take away for me was that we are in no legal obligation to re pay the fed. I found that interesting. I believe they laid out a plan where we would buy back the bonds and replace them with debt free currency, leaving the fed holding the bag. Just spit balling from my vague memory of that one, been years since I watched it.

Came to your home and said you have to move out today. The houses in the neighborhood are deemed too close together and is causing a fire hazard. If your home caught fire it would put your neighbor in jeopardy of losing their life or well being? Would you just say ok and leave?
That is what is happening to small businesses right now. Losing our lively hood, something some of us have built over the last 15, 20 years or so. Government deems us nonessential, close your doors and good luck to you! Government decides who stays open and who closes. The people in America fall right in line and try to shame those who are not wanting to lose everything.
Exactly where is this in the Constitution? As this may fall for most as a political issue, hate Trump/Love Trump, for some of us it's our livelihood, our families.
I hear your pain and I hate it for you. Have you looked into the CARES Act? Small businesses can get loans up to $4 Million to pay their staff, mortgage, rent, power and other overhead as well as paying yourself. After the virus is over, if you can show that you spent the loan money on those things, then they'll forgive the loan. Its the section Payroll Preservation I think.
Unfortunately, the plan ran out of money last week but their about to put $250 Billion more into it this week. Take advantage of that loan opportunity and you want have to close your business. That loan is a whole lot better than an infected person coming into your business and infecting you and your family. But I know, I'm sure it feels like being between a rock and a hard place.
Look into the CARES Act. It was bi-partisan and it's got some good things in it for small businesses and the self-employed. I wish you nothing but the best of luck and success. Go Tigers!

I agree, but...
Unfortunately the loans are being capped at 10K because there are 45 million potential applicants (30 million small businesses + 15 million self-employed or independent contractors).
Or capped at 2.5x monthly payroll whichever is lower.
At 10K each, only 1 million loans were granted during the first installment, and most of the money was allocated before the SE/IC period opened. That's why more money was promised before the first loans were granted. So approximately 2 of every 45 eligible applicants will receive money (if everyone applies for the max cap).
Additionally, many smaller banks fronted the money and have now put themselves at risk if they don't get full reimbursement from the SBA. This is not a wise way to reestablish financial stability, but it's better than staying at home and whining.

The PPP loans are > $10k cap
Apr 20, 2020, 11:25 AM

The PPP just ran out of the $350B in funds, but the government may expand it shortly.
The other EIDL and Cares Act have the initial $10k approval limits, but even those criteria keep changing. Was supposed to be an immediate $10k to businesses, but that is not happening.

Most people are sadly misinformed about the available government programs. There will be many businesses that saw “free money” and will be shocked to see that things were not as they thought. I predict many defaulted loans in the future that businesses thought would be forgiven.
I’ve done the research on all the programs and it is a complicated mess that won’t benefit most of the hardest hit businesses, despite what you hear from politicians.

What we are witnessing and experencing is a preview of things to come if Socialism (A PC name for Communism) is ever accepeted in America. The ruling class and their purveyors (Jack Booted Thugs) will consficate all meaans of defending yourself, what you say, what you eat, where you work, where you go, how many children you have and who you vote for. Wow, you do realize this already happened/happens. Firecode, zoning, UDOs, etc. In addition, for the most part the "Gubbbermint" actually has not enacted pure "takings" type restriction, most of it is voluntary thus far.
I hate to tell you but for a lot of poor and minority populations from about the 1880s through about 1980. It was redlining combined with urban renewal at its height for forced relocation. The gubbermint would reline, assess a home as "deficient" or derelict, acquire it (often by willing sellers - slumlords, underwater owners) and then use the said redline to oust "undesirable" populations from a community.
Then again, this there is the point of the police power. (Health, Safety, Welfare, and Morals). If you did not have idiots CHOOSING living in floodplain, then then expecting a bailout when it flood, welll...
That being said, what happened to business/organizations having a cash reserve just for unexpected events that cause a prolong shutdown.
Ask youself about who owned those homes rotting under Lake Hartwell...
shrug
