Let's look at the 12 team CFP as it stands right now

Oct 21, 2022, 10:28 AM

1. Georgia - BYE
2. Ohio State - BYE
3. Clemson - BYE
4. TCU - BYE

5. Tennessee hosts 12. Cincinnati
6. Michigan hosts 11. Okie State
7. Alabama hosts 10. Oregon
8. Ole Miss hosts 9. UCLA

Conference count
SEC = 4
B10 = 2
B12 = 2
PAC = 2
ACC = 1
Group = 1

The SEC will pretty much host the 1st round every year, unless there was a computer model developed for ranking instead of biased writers.

I understand that you qualified it with "right now" but claiming that the SEC will always host the first round is ridiculous.

Bama and Ole Miss still have to play.

UT and UGA still have to play.

Then the winners of each division will have to play prior to any playoff actually being set.

Further, Oregon and UCLA still have to play, and OK St and TCU may end up playing again.

Finally, the playoff is not currently set by the biased writers, so why would you include them in your complaint in the future expanded playoff system?

It is my understanding that the committee will still be deciding the CFP rankings. Yes I know they are also biased to some extent, but everybody is including the people who write computer programs so some bias is unavoidable.

Time will tell. I am pretty confident in my prediction.***

There aren’t any writers who vote on the CFP committee poll***

Don't hold your breath on computers helping

They all rate the SEC higher as well and will only help to validate the pro-SEC stuff.

The good thing is the pairings would not be done on October 21.

I expect most years a 12-team playoff will be the power-5 champs + SEC-championship game loser, then 4 more SEC teams, the "other" of Ohio State and Michigan (whichever was not the winner), and then one dark horse, maybe ND or a team like Penn St or UCLA having a good year.
