Is Anyone Else Having A Hard time Giving AF About this season?

Still seeing folks lose their minds over a five-loss team. I checked out after the Syracuse beatdown. That game told me everything I needed to know: overrated, no heart, poorly coached. I’m not writing the buyout check, so I’m just rolling with it. This year, Clemson’s a bad team in a weak conference. At this point, I’m just hoping we can develop some players for the future.
I don’t even care about a bowl. If we qualify, we’ll probably see a wave of opt-outs and transfers anyway. Maybe missing a bowl gets whoever Dabo’s keeping or hiring on the recruiting trail a little earlier.
I posted recently about fan apathy and got some traction. Truth is, I’m still wrestling with it. I care about Clemson Sports. I care about the fans. But like the Righteous Brothers said, I’ve lost that loving feeling.
Anyone else feeling this?

My reaction today to the pass interference and go ahead 2 point conversion was pure apathy. I used to would have been on my feet yelling at the tv. Now I just expect things not to go our way

Yep! Same here....kinda. I did did other stuff with family and did not watch the game....but, make the unfortunate mistake of listening to the Duke game while driving....
I think few players care....CK2, AW0, AR8, WH13, SB47.....MAYBE PW11 (but, if he did care, why is he never in other players faces getting them fired up???)....
Seems KB7, AT8 dont G.A.S.....AH23 only seemed to care in the SMU game....TP3 does not give one IOTA.....Joker has been checked out ALL SEASON!
Go Tigers!!!

I’m really tired and just saw the T and the 3, and assumed you were referring to Tristan Smith. I think he deserves to be on the top list of players who care. I fully agree that TJ Parker is checked out

I wish. It pisses me off to no end. If for no other reason than the pride of the school. All our history, stadium reputation everything completely trashed this year. I know the season has been over for awhile but I don’t want Clemson to get embarrassed. And we’re getting embarrassed.

I enjoy watching the games regardless. I want success for the team and coaches, but half the team is lost, and it is what it is. I will continue to support Clemson Football.
I have not missed a televised game in 30 years. I supported them through the Hetfield, West, Bowden, and Swinney's 6-7 team. I have no doubt things will get better. This team has shown some improvement, but regressed in other areas. And I have no doubt things will be addressed in the offseason for the better. This year is a hard lesson for the fans and coaches. We were spoiled for a bit there, and expectations were set too high. Swinney's teams play their best when we are the underdog, and that is a tough pill to swallow right now.

I'm still enjoying football. Just not Clemson football.
I always have. I always will.

Just adopt another team for the remainder of the season.
Go Sooners.

Knew something was wrong when we were flat against LSU with no excitement coming down the hill.

You might want to check back in 3 or 4 years. It'll take quite a few flushes to get this clog fixed. Apparently we shat the bed so badly we might need to call a Roto Rooter pro.

I always pull for the team. I’ll admit the first couple games were a hard pill to swallow. I bought the hype and really thought this team was going to turn a corner with a senior QB, a portal DE to help Parker out, and a new DC I believed would be better than the last. Instead we got more of the same as we’ve had the last 4-5 years.
I go into every game this season expecting a loss, but hoping for a win. If we lose, I don’t sweat it. If we win, great.
I imagine I’ll feel the same next season.

Clemson football stopped being fun a few years ago.

At a certain point it’s hard to get excited when you know the team is poorly coached and underachieving. I still watch all the games but don’t expect nearly as much from the team.
I enjoy Clemson basketball a lot more, because I know they are going to play their tails off, punch above their weight class, and provide us with some big wins. In hoops, I know the coaches are doing their best, including using the portal and NIL as much as they can. We may not always win but at least I know that it wasn’t due to stubbornness or hubris like it is in football.

I'll keep watching Clemson Football, but I just don't have the same passion. NIL/Portal has just hurt the fire in my belly I used to carry. My first Clemson game was the 1977 Clemson vs. Maryland game before the upper decks were built and there was more fun and passion in that loss that sold me on Clemson instantly.
I just don't care like I used to and that bothers me. If Dabo leaves there's no guarantee things will get better in this age of football. All I know is the 60 million people seem to think should be spent to fire Dabo could buy some of the best players in the nation.

I always care which explains why I have gotten more critical of Dabo. I was at the stadium yesterday and will be at the remaining home games. I never boo the team. I plan on being an IPTAY member with season tickets as long as I can. I am also going back to seat equity on my IPTAY and will throw my parking spot to the wind.
For those of you who were not at the game yesterday, you missed something that could not be felt on TV. The stadium did not have as much piped in music. The crowd that was there started coming to life and more vocal because of the 12 or so shirtless boys in the north upper left corner. Before you know, there were groups of shirtless boys in several locations that were getting the crowd into the game. The shirtless boys did more for crowd noise than any cheer unit on the field.

It's hard but that's part of being a fan. Gotta deal with the bad years too. I have definitely mellowed out on the failures and bad calls. I also understand the anger and frustration that many have.

Sure, I have lost the fire in the belly since our last two natties. I mean, I saw us win one in elementary school and then lived to see us win two more as an adult. Everything else re: Clemson football from now until I die, is gravy. There are much bigger things in my 50's to spend my energy and limited budget on than Clemson football. That said, I'll watch them on TV and will go to DV to catch a game once every couple of years. But, win or lose, I am pretty stoic about it now.

Yesterday during the first half of the game, I was out with friends for lunch.
The second half, I walked the neighborhood with a friend.
Granted, I followed the score. And, unfortunately, watched the collapse at the end of the game. And, yes, I still feel like the DPI call was bogus.
