Let me explain this to some folks

When you are running the ball at 9 yards a clip.

You KEEP RUNNING THE BALL until they are forced to stop you!

When they adjust to stop the run, you have easier time passing the ball.

See how that works?

McDowell had 16 touches for 142 yards! Imagine if Morris had

both Ellington and McDowell on the same team? Oh wait, Cad did last year and did the same thing.

We ran 29 times and threw 28.

A couple of times we ran, we got behind on the sticks and were forced to throw.

We might have had a 9 yard average, but that's from busting off long runs occasionally. We also had some runs that forced us into 2nd and 3rd and long.

We were balanced. That wasn't the issue. The issue was bonehead mistakes and errors at crucial times.

Amen

to me that was the difference in the game, after the TOs

South Carolina was getting stuffed in the run game with Mike Davis, who had been their bell cow all season. Spurrier adjusted his play calling to WB runs, wheel routes, wildcat, etc.

Clemson on the other hand had one thing that was working, and wouldn't stick with it, instead opting for things that were causing turnovers.

South Carolina adjusted away from what wasn't working to something that was, Clemson adjusted away from something that was working to something that didn't.
