Can't see how many outs but my guess is the guy on first was waiting to see if it was caught so he could tag up and the hitter was to busy admiring his hit. I have never seen that either and played baseball for years.

The guy on base in front of him must have had such a mental lapse he forgot that he was on a baseball field and was supposed to move forward.

My first thought too. Dangit, I agree with you! I did modify that thought to “they’re both idiots”, but I guess that’s redundant, considering the chronic coot-itis.

Runner on first base. High fly ball to deep right-center field. Runner is on first base to tag up and go to second on a sacrifice fly. Batter passes him by as he is looking at the right fielder he just doesn't see the runner on first base.
But, this is different. What the heck is the runner doing 15 feet off the bag? He's not going to tag up and advance on an out. He should have been much further down the line and not so close to first.

Probably not thinking about tagging up but making sure the ball is not caught before advancing. Otherwise, he could be doubled off. That’s on the batter/baseunner to know where the runner ahead of him is. But, he was into admiring his home run shot and therefore paid the price. Should have been scored a single & 3U.

It made Sports Center… blunder of the day or something like that ….
Their whole athletic program is an actual clown show…between this and Beamer’s antics … What a joke…
They are a Women’s Basketball school and proud of it!!
