Look at the stats, I'm still confident.

A lot of you may feel concerned about our defense, which is understandable. But I'm still confident as our offense under DW4 has never failed us.
Look at the stats. UNC has yet faced an offense like we have and yet their defense is still among the worst in ACC. Their opponents on their schedule that have the best offense are Duke, NC State and Miami. So, even if our defense cannot hold their offense, I still believe our offense should still be able to pick them apart.
On the other hand, their offensive stat may look great, but they haven't faced a defense like we have. The top-5 defense in ACC are Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, Florida State and NC State. And they have only just played NC State last night.
I don't know about you, but I'm pretty confident. Not cocky, but confident.
P.S. I haven't even talked about the OOC schedule as SCar and Notre Dame are not comparable.
Total Defense
1. Boston College 254.4 ypg 2. Clemson 288.5 ypg 3. Louisville 323.4 ypg 4. Florida State 327.7 ypg 5. NC State 332.5 ypg 6. Pittsburgh 344.3 ypg 7. Virginia Tech 353.8 ypg 8. Wake Forest 363.8 ypg 9. Georgia Tech 368.0 ypg 10. Duke 372.0 ypg 11. North Carolina 394.9 ypg 12. Miami 406.8 ypg 13. Virginia 411.5 ypg 14. Syracuse 438.5 ypg
Total Offense
1. Clemson 502.5 ypg 2. North Carolina 495.7 ypg 3. Duke 431.3 ypg 4. Florida State 424.9 ypg 5. NC State 411.9 ypg 6. Louisville 406.3 ypg 7. Miami 401.4 ypg 8. Virginia 383.0 ypg 9. Pittsburgh 381.0 ypg 10. Georgia Tech 378.0 ypg 11. Virginia Tech 367.4 ypg 12. Wake Forest 333.4 ypg 13. Syracuse 319.9 ypg 14. Boston College 275.6 ypg

The only stat that matters is the final score.A better indication is in how your team is playing. Our defense since the FSU game is too soft, and they have given up way to many yards, big plays, and points. On the other side, too many turnovers, and an offense that has gone somewhat vanilla in the last 3 games is a concern. Yes,I know the holes lost their opener to the coots, but they are playing better of late, and we cannot have the type of game ,execution wise, that we did on both sides of the ball against the coots, and expect to win next week.

Have you been watching our games or just providing Sunday morning analysis from a couple of highlights? The only thing holding our offense back has been turnovers. I would like for the inside running game to be a little better but #4 has essentially been taking what the defense is allowing. I'm cautiously optimistic for the ACC Championship mainly due to the struggles of the defense and giving up the big plays but I still think we win.

on that point. My take on the SCar game is we really did just line up on O and dare them to stop us. They couldn't. We didn't have to use funky formations or trick plays to beat them. Had we not given up three gifts, we would have run them out of cootlumbia.
It's my belief that we still have a whole lot of fun stuff we can use on O for the playoff run that none of us have seen. When we need a score, we still have aces up our sleeve.

averaging 69 yards of offense per quarter......
Even Coach Howard's famous "3 grunts and a punt" offenses were better than that

What are the totals for the last five games only? My prediction is that we might be too or even higher in offense but defense we I'll drop significantly.
I am not next to a computer to do this math.
I ll await your answer.

Clemson will score and Deshaun will put up numbers. We cannot loose the turnover margin against UNC or they will make us pay. They score a lot off turnovers.
The key to the game is our defensive play. We must have swagger and put pressure on Williams and stop the huge runs.
I fully believe that with a win and your in scenario with this being the last game for a few weeks, we will be ready to play

Last 5-game stats

Clemson
Offense 554.4 ypg Defense 325.2 ypg
North Carolina
Offense 526.6 ypg Defense 458.0 ypg
Common opponent in the last 5 game--@NC State
Clemson (O-D): 623 yards - 389 yards UNC (O-D): 553 yards - 514 yards
Look pretty close. Clemson edges them a bit on defense, however, we seem to have the problem stopping mobile QB, which could be an issue against Marquise Williams. On the other hand, their defense has a lot of problem stopping the run that should be very favorable to us as DW4 and Gallman can establish solid runs that help open up the passing game.
It should be a good game.
