Friday night, just hung around the house watched a couple of new episodes of King of the Hill.
Saturday, up early to meet up with some cousins to tube down the river in Boone. Always a good time, stopped at the Booneshine Brewery for lunch then headed home.
Sunday, up to Asheville because the Moose Cafe is the best play I know of to get blueberry pancakes and that is one of only two things Sharkgirl asked for on her birthday.

Friday: came home early, messed around, got a triple double, son came over and we watched some Hard Knocks and the SEC Any Given Saturday.
Saturday: got up later than normal, went shopping for groceries, grilled burgers, watched some NFL preseason, bed
Sunday: did a WHOLE lot of nothing because of the rain. Played with the dogs, ate leftovers.
Youngest has a scokker tournament in Charlotte this upcoming weekend, and son of and I are heading to the Panties/Steelers preseason match on the 21st, so it picks up a good bit, now.

Fri - Pizza and a movie
Sat - Went to in-laws and had a lake day. Water was chilly. Got home and cut grass, mower malfunctioned for 2nd time in 1 yr. Got new boat in the mail.
Sun - Church in the morning. Went to Mama's for lunch and played wiffleball. Got kids to assemble new boat while I went to Greenville and bought a trailer for it. It is locked up in the building, so no worries.

It used to go back and forth from the farm to the little country store that my grandparents ran. One time the dog got loose and killed it. Maybe the dog got a spanking.

Fri- moved daughter into Capstone House, sniff sniff. It went well overall. Stayed up late with the wife going down the Youtube rabbit hole.
Sat - growler fill up at Lowe's grocery. Got wife convinced to get out of the house. Grabbed some sushi/sushi tacos at Takosushi. Sang a couple karaoke songs, home and more Youtube. Stayed up too late - again.
Sun - Nothing. Absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be. It was actually a little too much nothing. Did watch the golf tournament, Fleetwood falters again.

Friday headed to Topsoil in TR for a nice dinner. Ate marvelously, came home and watched a King of the Hill and crashed.
Saturday was yardwork and garden day, got much accomplished. Planted another wave of cucumbers and pole beans, we'll see what we get out of those. Mowed and general cleanup. For dinner we got some fig ravioli out of the freezer that we'd gotten at the farmers market a couple weeks ago. I made some brown butter sauce and some salad, and wife-of had gotten a flatbread at the grocery store we threw in the oven. Ate well, then I fired up the firepit and spent an evening chilling and enjoying the weather.
Sunday wife had made reservations for midday at a winery in Flat Rock, so we went up and chilled on their patio for a bit having a glass of wine and some snacks. Lovely day. Came home and went on a long bike ride.
37 stars, would repeat.

Saturday morning left for CLT around 4:30 AM. Daughter played beach volleyball at Renaissance Park in a 14U tourney. Made semis, again, lost to the eventual winners, again, finished 3rd overall. Sets were 21-19, 19-21, 15-13. Girls who beat her were her Sunday partner and a new girl who wants to partner up with her soon. So close.
Stayed at friends house. Back to Renaissance Park on Sunday for the 16U portion of tourney. Finished 3rd in pool, didn't make knockouts. 16U competition was stacked, lots of future college players in the field. I would say she was one of the better second tier teams, but we had no shot at doing much damage. She can't play 14U anymore after September 1, so the competition is going to get tougher, but some of those better players will be moving to 18U. She was discouraged, we drove back.
At least next weeks tourney is in Wilmington.

Friday: Played golf at a nice private country club, shot a 77 with no birdies and a triple. Then went to a new disc golf course opening day, had lots of beers and good time with wifekrzy since lilkrzy was at in-laws.
Saturday: Qualified for the biggest disc golf doubles event in the country after an 11 hole playoff.
Sunday: Wifekrzy left for a trip, I played golf again with another 77, this time with 4 birdies and 7 missed putts inside ~7'.

So while I played in the event she hung out and drank wine and read her book. Finished playing and we stayed in their outdoor cigar patio for a bit. She wanted some ice cream so we got Goodberry's on the way home, threw it into the freezer when we got home, showered together, then she got to enjoy some of the best 20 seconds of her life, then she got to enjoy her ice cream.
It was a good day.

Because it beats running up and down the highway for Momma PAW elder care.
Backstory - I was exhausted this past week from my trip down to Aiken and then worrying about my mom keeping her appointments and letting my sister go with her. Didn’t really rest until Thursday.
Friday was littlest APM’s birthday “party” which at 17 meant going to see Superman with a friend and eating pizza.
Saturday I gave my car a long-overdue wash. Then got some new running shoes and did a 5-miler. Date with the wife. Picked up lil APMette at the Amtrak station for a week and a half at home before the new school year starts at Penn.
Sunday was church, chill and grill. LFC lost but I didn’t get to watch anyhow. I overcooked the steaks a little. Didn’t sleep as much as I wanted to over the weekend.
But I could not care less. Happy to have a weekend at home and some major Mom drama in the rearview.

Friday, Neil Young at PNC Arena in Charlotte...my least favorite venue in maybe the entire Milky Way Galaxy. I could write a lengthy post on the place, but I won't, other than to say that Neil rocked his 79-year-old-ass off and put on one helluva show, which made dealing with PNC worth it.
Saturday, a couple of nice hikes with the pup, grocery and errands, then came home and grilled a beef shoulder steak and veggie kabobs.
Sunday, Truckstop Preachers at the Thirsty Beaver. Seriously...a TSP show at the Beaver should be on everyone's bucket list to do before you die.

Friday...wife-of caught the cold I had earlier in the week, so took daughter-of and her fraund to Messican for dinner. Pretty sure I faded early and went to bed.
Saturday...went on a grocery run. Horry sheet, steaks at Publix have done up even more recently. Did a few chores around the house. Tried to replace the accelerator (pedal) assembly in my daughters truck because the position sensor is going bad. After about an hour of trying to reach bolts that are impossible to reach by a grown human and running out of cruse words, decided we gotta take to the man Aunt Bee. Was supposed to go to Calhoun Corners for dinner, but wife-of called it off 'cause feeling bad, so ordered some food from neighborhood clubhouse that was good.
Sunday...made Italian eggs and hashbrowns for brekfess, watched church on youtube ('cause wife) and didn't do a whole heck of a lot else other than some work work. Still not feeling 100% yet myself.
Total 'meh' weekend.

Fri - got my car back after two weeks at the body shop to replace a bumper and quarter panel after an unfortunate incident with a bollard. Happy to not have steal wife or child's car. Played Golden Tee. Was clearly out of practice, shooting 12 and 16 under. Watched pre-season football and Foundation
Sat - Back in the swing of things with Golden Tee, including a hole in one on a par 4! Got the fam 5 Guys at the request of other MSynan. Went to see a band called The Rusty Strings doing a tribute to Jerry Garcia. They did an excellent job by picking the right songs like Deep Elem Blues, some Old and in the Way, etc over more trippy Dead stuff. Followed that with seeing Shine and the Shakers (just Shine) who is a promising blues style singer song writer
Sun - slept in and napped because ain't like grand. Cooked the fam some crab cakes. They loved it. Then watched Orlando City absolutely destroy rival Ft Lauderdale (Inter Miami) w/o Messi 4-1

Up at 4:30 to go up to Volusia County to watch my daughter ride some horses. Did it all over again Sunday but stayed local. Got everything ready for school to start today.

fri - flew to ny to watch yanks play astros for a couple days. landed and we all headed to check in then hit stan’s (iconic yankee bar). from there to the cannabis shops all over the place. forgot it was legal and regulated up there. made some purchases and took them into stadium. after game bar hopping, ate street pizza at 2a and cannoli at 2:30a. long night. plus yanks lost to astros in xtra innings.
sat - a lot of our 20 something kids joined us for saturday game. daughterof came in from bahston and got to hang with some of the kids she grew up. six of our kids showed. did shots with them, drank a bunch, enjoyed my purchases from cannabis stores, ate hot dog, rib eye sandwich, popcorn. yanks win 5-4. sing ny ny with ol’ blue eyes then back to hotel for night out.
sun - double screwdriver 10:30a at laguardia, coffee, bagel and flight delay one hour - not bad. laguardia has changed drastically for the better. butt if you spend 8b on something to fix up, it should look good. overall a great weekend butt feeling it today. couple pics and hoping they are not upside down. May need mcluvs magic.
