a "perfectionist" he has the wrong mindset to be successful at QB. That mindset could also be described as one who "tries not to make a mistake, or lose". There's a huge difference between that mindset and a "playing to win" mindset - you have to have an assassin's mindset. DW was a stone cold killer. Steph Curry always takes shots, he misses a bunch but makes a lot too. Unless DJ can change his approach, he may be a decent QB, but he'll never be great.

I hate it for him. A shame to see an athlete with all the physical tools that he has not have the mindset to make him a complete athlete.

What exactly are "all the physical tools"? All I've seen is that he is tall and he can throw the ball a long way. That's just about it.

He has poor footwork, poor touch on his passes, and really struggles on anticipatory passes because he can't read defenses.

We're almost 3 full years into his college career--it is what it is at this point

He will never make it as a pro QB but I sure hope he tries it next year.

You have mixed up skills with tools. He is big, athletic, has a great arm - those are tools. The footwork, missed throws, etc are skills.

Rookie mistake.

There are Tight Ends that are big, athletic, and have a strong arm. Doesn't mean I would say "he has all the right tools to be a great QB". Get outta here
