We absolutely need to quit making fun of Louisville

I'm sick of their whiny fans, too, but along with Auburn, beating Louisville gives us two very good non-conference wins. When you compare our non-conference slate of Louisville and Auburn to a team like Washington (Portland State), it shows the committee we are willing to schedule tough OOC opponents.
Yes, I know CUSA isn't what it used to be, but if they keep getting coaches like Petrino and Herman, that league will get some respect. Yes, it is probably only a matter of time before Herman and Petrino jump ship for a Power Five team, but you never know. Herman did turn down the Gamecocks, so it isn't automatic. They can take JUCOs, academic transfer casualties, and prison outreach players that Power Five teams can't accept, so in the long run, that will help them close the talent gap.
Louisville will probably be favored at the end of the year against Houston, and if they win that game and beat Navy, we'll have a victory over the CUSA champ and maybe the Sun Belt champ (Troy).
I'm kind of surprised the Big 12 didn't pick up Louisville to go along with WVA. Maybe they'll break into the big leagues in the next round of conference expansion. Personally, I'm glad the ACC doesn't have to take commuter schools, but i'll stop there since that is sort of an elitist opinion.

Lewis-Ville. Just doesn't belong in ACC. No coast line either.

"only a matter of time before Herman and Petrino jump ship for a Power Five team,"
I am pretty sure Petrino already coaches for a team in a Power 5 Conference that is ranked #5 in most polls.

Academics required for ACC membership. Perhaps the Big XII will pick them up. But hey, a win over a conference champ is good in my book.

I think I was too Quick to judge their academics. While Tigernet is wasting time talking about conference championships, playoffs, etc., their message board has crowdsourced an unsolved mathematics problem:
Is 42 > 36?
Perhaps we could send math prodigy Marcus Edmonds to help. He already proved that 11 < 12. And how Quickly he solved that problem.

...let's also get rid of Pitt and Notre Dame. I suppose Pennsylvania and Indiana may take credit for having a bit of coastline along the Great Lakes, but that doesn't count as Atlantic coast coastline for ACC membership. Kentucky most definitely doesn't have jack for a coastline, so Lewisville is first out.

I think we would beat them soundly if we played them again, but why talk rash either way. They could beat us. We won, so who cares what they have to say or think?

I like that you guys are so nervous that a CUSA school will jump you in the polls if you lose tomorrow, and you know what? You should be. Everyone but tiger fans know who is the better team. ??

Despite losing the turnover margin, several of which directly cost Clemson points - we still won the game. I will patiently await your reply.

you mean the team that scored 28 in the last 7 minutes of the half. or the team that went 76 yards in 36 seconds to end the half. or the team that was about to turn the game into a rout until we fumbled on the 3 yard line. is that the team.

They would have to play each other 3 years in a row (and win) to prove superiority.

See--this right here is the problem with playing CUSA teams. It is all downside. Even when you play a good one, and you beat them, you still can't get any credit for it.

SOS theory....

Now that SMU has beaten Houston and should be the frontrunner in the Big East, the awaiting clash with Lewisvull and Lavar to decide the conference should look good for us in two ways:
(1) We played UL tightly in the narrow loss and would otherwise win the Big East
(2) Chad Morris coached here and his success there translates back to us
Bottom line, we'd be good enough to finish at least third in the Big East and that should impress the committee.
