anybody remember THIS? Disco Tiger

Aug 4, 2011, 9:30 AM

From the 70's... I remember first hearing it on the Tiger Tailgate show with Russ Cassel and Jane Robelot.. THAT was a good tailgate show.. would be AWESOME to get them both back.. would it not? They both still live here in the upstate.. Just loved that show back then. its hard to listen to these days IMHO.. Oh well trip down memory lane.. 1977 DISCO TIGERS!

that any of my favorite gansta rap be eliminated that I have grown to treasure so deeply.

I'm all for an eclectic mix of music in the stadium. If an

occasional rap tune gets the players pumped up, well that's a good thing. I don't think Robert Earl Keen's going to get our 19 year old players smacking helmets, but it would work for me.

Kidding aside, you did just remind me of something

Every time our players get all worked up to the music in the stadium and start jumping up and down --- They forget their assignments and give up a big play on defense. So let's play Tiger Disco and stay in the game.

I had forgotten about this. BRING IT BACK!!!!!***

Anybody remember the Clemson country song:

Aug 4, 2011, 9:54 AM

"I'm an Orange Fan in Tigerland" that they played in the early 80's in the stadium as we were warming up, etc.

I've got the original album- TIGER FEVER -Ode to the Paws and Claws. Will try to get it converted to something that can be passed on to ya'll. I'm not very computer savvy.

We need to dig it out and give it a listen. The song I referenced was called Big Orange Fan.

Here is the link to a one that someone is selling on Amazon:

Aug 4, 2011, 10:58 AM

The old Tiger Tailgate show was really a heck of a good show.

Remember "Danny Bored" and "Buck White" who liked to fight and walked from Gaffney to Toccoa. Those were the days.

The above poster makes a good point about the piped in music between plays that the players get all goofy over. The people in charge of that need to remember the gameday experience is for the fans. The players need to be concentrating on the game, not what rap song is playing. Bring back the good stuff and the players can listen to whatever they want when they celebrate the win after the game.

Very, Very Excited. Very, Very Proud.
