Keys to the game

Defense CLemson's big 8 upfront are healthy are ready to go. Plus, FSU's Starting RB is probably out. So expect a heavy passing dose from Jordan Travis. Travis (153.8) has the 2nd best QPR we have seen but still well behind Sam Hartman (174). If we can get pressure rushing 3 or 4, FSU will have trouble moving the ball
Offense We need a big day from Shipley, FSU ranks 85th in Rush Defense giving up 156 yds per game. FSU's pass defense ranks 9th and DJ should be set up for some play actions when the CBs play up or Bubble screens when the CBs play back. Dont expect alot of DJ in this game. I think 200 yds from DJ total yds, no Turnovers and TD would be solid effort here
I think this will be a lower scoring game. We may give up a big play or two, but should do well in the read zone and hold FSU to field goals rather than TDs on the compressed field. I dont see the 3.5 line Vegas has us at. I like us winning by 7-10 points CLemson 24-16

We have far better kicking game w/Potter and far superior coach and staff. Norvell is an abortion of a coach that somehow lived.

I would add limiting the big plays. Keep the FSU offense in front of you. Let them get yards in the middle of the field and play lock down in the redzone. Force turnovers and field goals. Then put together TD drives to build a lead.

Smart Aggression/ OL Dominance

The OL needs to be big for Clemson. Challenge the depth of FSU on the DL. Perhaps early on use the tempo of we are successful on 1st down. With the idea being they are not currently deep at DT and are banged up a bit at DE. So, make them a bit gassed early so it pays dividends later! The OL needs to control the line of scrimmage or at least make it a push situation. I like our depth if either of those things happens at WR and TE to eventually make a play!
ON defense - smart aggression will have to be key. You can't just rush Jordan Travis; because he will Russell Wilson your arsenic. You have to be disciplined in how you rush him so he doesn't get out of the pocket. The back seven will have to have good eye discipline if he does escape the pocket as J.T. does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield looking for the broken big play opportunities.
Johnny Wilson at 6'7 is going to be a problem; so you have to put a safety over top. This is why the LB crew will need to come to play ball. Carter can maybe run some Tampa 2 and run with anybody streaking down the middle as Makuba helps on Wilson.
Special Teams - as far as kicking game - advantage Clemson on FG team. Not sure how good FSU punter is. In the NCSU FSU ran a special trick play; that worked well. Tigers will have to be on the lookout for such trickeration.

The Tigers

Will get the best performance of the year from the Noles. Everyone gets that from their team when the Tigers come to town. Dabo expects it and I’m sure has prepared for it.
This game is like all the others. Keep the ball.No turnovers. Develop a running game. Keep the clock moving and score points. Sounds simple.
Dabo is good at doing these things.
With some of the guys who have been banged up returning to the lineup I feel better about this game. I hope the Tigers can make an early statement and get this game in control by halftime.
My guess: 30 - 13

Short list. Our offensive line has to block, our defensive backs have to cover and we can't turn the ball over.

Agree. Offense needs to be run first. They are giving up a lot of rushing yards and we need to capitalize on that. Run the ball and run the clock. If we do it well we will win handily and yes it will be lower scoring.

There have been several times in recent times when the stats

said we should have a field day against a team that is weak defending the run. For whatever reason, it has not happened. Probably because we always get those teams mythical "best shot", since we are Clemson.

This is true! I have noticed that as well.
Teams do play their best against us. It use to be, and I could be way off base > FSU looked at us in a similar way. Meaning: the tough team that has had some recent success against us; but we are still FSU!
I don't think Clemson has that attitude because Dabo won't allow it. But, these kids read the reports and see other teams' records. If enough of them buy into this being "just another game" we end up in a tougher spot. If more buy into the fact, "you have to show up each time you strap up or the opponent can and will beat you"!
If more of our guys have kept their heads out of what "should happen" and show up tomorrow ready to be the best version of themselves: "Clemson wins"! The best version of FSU vs. the best version of Clemson = A Clemson win!
We show up sideways and FSU is all jazzed up to "take down Clemson"! They are capable of beating us!
