The you followup with Tommy Worst. Loved by many but not up to the task at hand. I hope Bama goes into a sinkhole like we did for a decade+

Yes. Seemed like West was supposed to be the second coming of Danny Ford that didn't pan out. Didn't he work on Ford's staff. I remember all the comparisons to Ford when West won his first game in the Peach Bowl against Kentucky just like Danny won the Gator Bowl in his first game as HBC after Pell left.

I read, he took it over the phone, never having even set foot on campus. Just speaks to the talent that Danny left behind.

Well, why didn't Danny win any Nattys in the late '80s? He also had plenty of talent.

Danny didn't have us in contention for a national championship

in the late 80s. We lost 2 games each year for several years in a row.
He was recruiting well, but to say that he would've won more national championships, or that any other coach should've, is a huge reach.

Agreed. Danny was an excellent coach. He recruited well, developed well enough, especially on the defensive side and the running backs. Special teams not bad. Passing game????? This was his weakness, IMHO. If the other teams shut down our running game, fugetaboutit.

Hatfield was a good person and a better coach than either of the Tommy's... but yes, he was the man after the man... we were in shock for years after Danny Ford was abruptly fired. Nothing short of a national championship would have saved Hatfield.

Used up all the talent that Danny recruited. When he depleted what we had on the shelf it was clear he was a good Christian man but a terrible coach and recruiter. Tammy was better but didn't have killer instincts....always settled for the FG and played not to lose.

Didn't perform, recruiting took a dive, took a swipe at the the staff before him, claiming that at least his staff did things right
He had the chance, blew it.
Didn't Ford take over for a successful Pell ?/ LOL

Message boards are not your forte.
You see, you called Hatfield a jerk and a bad coach. My only response to you was that he is a good guy and that I'm sorry you haven't moved on from your anger/hatred/resentment/whatever you're feeling.
I'm not sure how you drew any conclusions about my football knowledge from that post.

other points.
Unlike your feelings towards Dabo and Brownell, my opinions about our coaches don't carry all of that emotional baggage.
