Kelly/Stoudt/Watson 2014 QB?

I think we see Stoudt/Kelly split time. Also, I could see Stoudt transferring if Kelly wins the job so I think coaches start the year at least playing both. Would be nice to redshirt Watson but who knows he may be tough to sit out.

I hope that they red shirt him to add some weight. But if he is good enough to win the starting job, play him!!!

Watson will def RS, just like FSU did with Winston. No need to waste a year. I see Stoudt winning the starting job, he has a better grasp of the offense right now. But who knows when the off season gets here. He reminds me a lot of Whitehurst.

nobody transfers. If Stoudt struggles or gets hurt, Kelly steps right in.

Kelly Starts. Watson redshirts. He really needs to add weight so he doesn't get killed. Stoudt is a very good back up, but he is a back up.

season, I don't see how Kelly beats out Stoudt. Kelly seems to run the ball well, but I haven't seen many well thrown balls in the games he has played.
On the other hand, Stoudt is extremely accurate, knows the offense very well, and is a good enough runner. It is very hard for me to see Kelly beating out Stoudt based on the play I've seen so far.

It is easy to see how he beats him out. It's called talent. He has more of it. Stoudt would not have been the #2 if Kelly didn't hurt his knee.

After the knee was fully healed, he was still 3rd.

Can you explain more precisely? He has been very inaccurate

throwing the ball in the games this season, and his only real success has been running the ball.
I agree with the poster above, Stoudt has the accuracy, frame, and skill set to be an NFL QB, just like his Dad.
He has consistently moved us down the field for scores in the games he has played, and has been very accurate throwing and successful running the ball in the process.
Based on the the body of work on the field so far, it is hard to see what skill set Kelly exceeds Stoudt as we sit here today.

Tajh was used a lot in short yardage this year. If Dye or another rb can come in and help in short yardage I think that will help Stoudts chances to play more. Having Kelly in on 3rd down adds that running demention. Stoudt isn't a bad runner but Kelly is better.

I think that Kelly will definitely be the starter next year if he performs decent in the spring. Stoudt will be the most familiar with the offense given his number of years in the system, but he doesn't have the same upside as Kelly in our offense.
Remember that Morris' offense is actually an offshoot of Malzahn's offense. It was initially described as a power running spread offense. The read option is also supposed to be a huge component. Because Boyd was much better suited to passing than running a zone read offense, Morris adjusted his offense accordingly. I just don't see any situation where Morris takes a senior QB that doesn't fit his offense and hands him the reigns for one year.
Of course none of this matters is Morris leaves or if Kelly struggles.
As far as Watson, I think he should definitely redshirt if Stoudt and Kelly are healthy.

Watson would start over Kelly in that scenario, IMO.

Kelly seems very inaccurate throwing the ball, and Watson is a better/faster runner and possesses a bigger arm.
I think Kelly winds up third string by the fall. I think Stoudt will be the starter because we have the best chance to win with his knowledge of the offense, passing accuracy, and running ability, which looked pretty good to me this season. He is not the breakaway runner that Kelly or Watson would be. For that reason, I see the depth chart by the beginning of the season as Stoudt/Watson/Kelly, assuming Watson learns the offense this Spring and has some success in the Spring/Fall practice.
It makes more sense to play Stoudt as a senior, play Watson as a backup as a true freshman, and have Kelly as third string. Watson will not be redshirted if he is as talented as the experts think. It makes little sense to redshirt potential NFL skill set players (barring injury) when they will likely go pro at three years (see Winston at FSU, will likely only play two years at FSU after redshirting).

I don't think Kelly was truly 100% this year even though he came back and played. It takes awhile to fully recover from an ACL injury.

Stoudt to transfer, really....

it doesn't make sense now, with him just having 1 yr left. If he were going to, he should have done that B4 this past season. Hes a good guy, I'm sure. Wish the best for him too, but hes just not a good "FIT" for the zone read option-IMHO.
IMO- though he hasn't played College ball yet, Watson should be the best option. With Kelly right THERE. Anyways.... ---------------------------------------------------- Whats the lastest with Sammy (coming back) IS that true? Anything to that? What do you guys know? Man, that sure would help an offense next year in dier need of leaders.
