in the Spartanburg h&j today was an article where Kelly questioned why the coaches are going live this year but did not during boyds time here. he says it is what it is and you just have to do what the coaches say.

the CRAP you are looking for that I just referenced is in a title article called Watson injured during practice. read it ALL fool instead of attacking someone for YOUR short sightedness. it was written by aaron Brenner of the Charleston post and courier. I am sure since it is in print he did not MAKE it up as you say. but you can as others hope by denying something it will make it not true. take a logic and truth pill and keep moving forward. and just a friendly reminder that next time don't be so quick to call people a lie. just a tip.

Sorry, don't see any comments by Chad Kelly

In Clemson, freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a slight crack in a collarbone near the end of Monday’s scrimmage.
He will be out for three weeks, which means he will not play in the spring game on Saturday.
“He played the entire scrimmage,” head coach Dabo Swinney said. “I am not really sure when he suffered the injury and I was not aware of it until after I met with the media after practice.
“This is a shame because he was having an outstanding spring. Fortunately this is not a serious injury. I hate that he will miss the Spring Game. I know a lot of people were anxious to see him make his debut in Death Valley. But he will be fine by the time summer workouts start again in May. He does not require surgery.”
Swinney said the defense showed improvement during the 90-play scrimmage, the second one of the spring.
“The defense put more pressure on the quarterback (three sacks) and forced a couple of turnovers,” Swinney said.
Four quarterbacks (Cole Stoudt, Chad Kelly, Watson and Nick Schuessler) worked during the scrimmage. As usual, Swinney was asked about the race to replace Tajh Boyd.
“All have had good days and had some not so good days, but it is a very competitive situation,” Swinney said. “I don’t see us determining a starter until August. There is no obvious front runner.”
Swinney reported that senior Sam Cooper is out for the rest of spring due to a shoulder injury. Defensive back Taylor Watson suffered a knee injury and will miss the spring game, which will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Kelly knows full well about suffering a painful practice injury; he tore his ACL making a cut in the 2013 spring game, without being touched by a defender.
"Hopefully Deshaun's OK . I've never really been a fan of having the quarterback live," Kelly said. "I kind of said something last week; Coach, you couldn't do that the first two years I was here, what's up? But it is what it is."
"Talking to former quarterbacks, they're like, what, are you crazy? The coaches make the calls and I've just got to do what I've got to do."

The simple answer would be

that the coaches knew Boyd was the man and knew what he would do in given situations. Now they need to know for sure what each of these QBs will do. Only one way to find out....and that's live action.

Sorry, but the coaches didn't know what they had with Boyd.... Morris first year was Boyd's first year as a starter.....
I think they just didn't have faith with any of the other guys behind Boyd.
Going live is what you have to do when you are trying to figure out who is going to be your starter when you have 3 really good QB's, and that one will be a Senior, one a red-shirt sophomore and the other a true Freshman.
I think the coaches know what they are doing and I don't see anywhere that Kelly said a thing.

keep his mouth shut. Questioning the coaches and their decisions publicly isn't going to get him any closer to the starting QB job.
IMO, they knew what TB could do under pressure to no need to risk him - they don't really know about the guys we have now - need to see them in some serious live action to evaluate them.
After Kelly's been the starter for a couple of years then maybe they won't feel the need to play him live either.

Tajh was an established starter and we had nobody with any kind of experience backing him up. We were game planning for Tajh's talent, so losing him would've really hurt the team. Right now, we've got a QB competition with three guys, all of whom our coaches think would be successful if put on the field. They've got to see who will prove they can play in the most game- like situation.

If Kelly really said this - he just managed to say it before I did on t-net. I wondered that when they first announced this. There had to be a valid reason for not subjecting Boyd to this. It might have helped him make his reads faster knowing he was going to get pummeled in practice. Waiting until game time to try and fix that problem was an annual problem IMO. I can't believe the NFL teams don't see that. Having a cannon for an arm only helps if you make your reads fast enough and don't lock onto targets. Let's hope I am very wrong about this. I would be proud to see Boyd do well in the NFL as he is an excellent representative of our beloved university.

going live is a gamble no doubt. but wasnt it just a short time ago that the biggest complaint about our program was that we were soft. the big difference in why boyd was not hit is it was boyd backed up by boyd pretty much, especially 2 years ago. now we have 3 qb's that any one could be the guy. got to let them go at it imo.

I am beginning to believe some on here really have reading problems. first people post that he did not say what I quoted the article as saying, then others post the exact same article word for word and still some say it is a lie. please check your self if you doubt and these type problems can be solved. some on here have trouble with the truth and sure do not know how to handle it.

right? I mean, I'm all for being sensible and cautious, but the coaches have a tough decision to make. They need all the input they can get. First game isn't SC State...it's Georgia in Athens. Those boys will be coming after the QB a lot harder than our defense is probably coming after you in spring practice.

But imo, Kelly needs to tone his mouth down some on his opinions (especially in public & I see him out all the time). I get it, kid can play & WANTS to play! But settle down with questioning the coaches because it's safe to say they know what they're doing...sure are getting paid enough to know Do as you're told & be a part of "team" & THEN you'll have the opportunity to show your stuff if you EARN the spot (that requires listening to the coaches). I have a hunch that Dabo & Co. have a plan

not a different article. it is the same one that is on the shj front page of the sports section. the shj does not have a reporter that covers the tigers and they just use articles from the state, gn, and cpc. it is the same article word for word. some just don't want to believe what they read sometimes. it is much easier to call someone a lie, coot, or what ever than do a little reading.
