Looks to me like if we win our first game we get NCSU who just recently kicked out butts, sweeping the three game series with ease. But that was true of every school we’ve played recently, except Pitt. It will be interesting to see if Pitt is that bad or we have broken out of a month’s long offensive slump. Or both. Hopefully we are coming out of the slump and the pitching can hold. Go Tigers.

I just noticed they had changed the format. Had not read anywhere where they were considering it. Rather it was double elimination but at least every game in the end will mean something. Prior format was asinine in the fact you could still be playing with a zero chance of winning. Made no sense in it being a tourney.

It'll be interesting to see how Bakich navigates the rotation. Do you hold Knaak for a potential Thu night quarterfinal v. NCSt or throw him against the winner of VT/Stanford?
NCSt shellacked him a couple weeks back to the tune of 8 ER over just 4 IP. He completely shut down Stanford earlier in the year and VT hasn't seen him. NCSt also crushed Titsworth... but has not seen Bell. So maybe Knaak in game 1 (conserve the pen as much as possible), Bell in game 2? Bell seems to have found his groove.

Clemson is minus good HR (power) hitters, are not very good with runners on base, and really only have one elite pitcher in Knaak. I hope they do make it deep into the tournament, but I find that a difficult task for the Tigers. Clemson needs to recruit some power hitters. You remember Green, Baker, and Johnson who were back to back to back. Those three terrified hitters. We need at least 2/3 of something similar to that!!!

State was red hot when we played them and we were struggling. Hopefully Tigers got some confidence back this past weekend. Gotta get the first one though.

There is VERY little in sports that grinds my teeth more than seeing ND in ANY of our ACC tournaments. I wish the Conference commissioners would have had the juevos to stand up to the Domers and say "Nope, you can't be a little bit pregnant. Be a member in football or kick rocks" And I know im hardly the only one with that opinion.
