Are you SERIOUS? I have never SEEN a more textbook case of targeting than that play! It had ALL the elements, not just some. Launch,, leading with the crown, forcible contact in the head and neck area, you name it, it had it.
Those replay officials should never, ever be allowed to officiate another football game, ever again. Period, end of sentence. Do not pass Go, do not collect ANY $$$.

Did you watch the body language of the Miami thug? And the Cal QB immediately pointed to his own helmet. ACC screws it up again.

They gave Miami 3 conference wins already. ACC doesn’t was Clemson to win ACC. At beginning of season they felt Miami was their best bet to keep Clemson or FSU from winning ACC

a youth named Lenny Wirtz sewing his wild oats.
Cade got targeted once and horse collared twice, no call.
It's simply reason #293 of why I want Clemson out of the ACC.

It was a facemask before it was a horse collar. ACC refs probably thinks it cancels each other out.

It wasn't, was a facemask on the same play as the horsecollar, and pathetic ACC refs missed both.

The play before the one where he stood and watched from the sidelines.

if you watched the replay I know you saw the sideline camera right in his face. Why do you think he sat that play out?
Just how much did you have to drink before the game, anyway?

Haven't watched any replays since the ones they showed live, but I don't remember it even remotely looking like targeting because he wasn't defenseless.

It was text book targeting. You cannot launch and deliver a blow to the head/neck area with the crown of the helmut regardless. Has zero to do with being defenseless.

I'll have to find the replay and watch it again

I'm familiar with the targeting rule - I don't remember there being a launch or forcible contact to the head/neck area with the crown of the helmet.

Watch again. Left his feet. Not in question. Forcible hit to the head and neck area. That’s why the announcer said it was text book targeting. And he’s right.

lol, It was as obvious as anything could be it was a perfect example of what targeting is. How did thay miss that call? ACC refs trying to protect one of their playoff hopes? Hopefully, we will find a way out of this horrific conference.

Exactly! If you want to target another player then that's the perfect example of how to do it.

Resulted in injury to a player which is the whole thing they are trying to stop right? They must explain what made them decide the way they did.

Hmmm. IMO the one from last night was worse. In that video the Auburn RB completely puts his head down and presents the crown of his helmet. That makes that play a little tougher to call.
